Give aways are 10 to 2 with the Islanders having 10. That kind of puck management isn’t a recipe for success.
That said it’s only 1-0. They win the 3rd period and they can steal this one.

The goal against is yet another example of an issue that has plagued this team all year and has not been an issue the last couple of seasons. Poor communication and assignment recognition in their own zone is killing them. Some of that can likely be attributed to the fact that they just haven't been able to get a consistent enough schedule to find a groove.
Either way, at this point the damage has been done.

And how in the hell have we become stuck with Bailey on the top line again? He certainly didn't 'earn in' to that role.

The Caps looked like the stronger, quicker team throughout most of the game.

Varlamov should have made the save against Wilson. It was a nice shot but he wasn’t screened and he had time to set up.

I don’t disagree. But still think he should have made the save. Wilson was probably five feet higher than the hash marks maybe 25-30 feet to the net. No screen, tip and not a one timer. Should have had it.

He played great today. I wish he had that one. Sometimes your goalie has to steal one. Would have been nice to at least get a point. The team as a whole was off. Can’t keep sputtering. Hopefully they get back to it next game.
