I was just writing my blog and literally just stated how this loss for the Oilers might mean a few changes in the front office or on the coaching staff! Claude Julien would be terrific in EDM!

Jay Woodcroft (coaches the AHL team) needs a chance. Has done great in the minors.
It's year 7 of McDavid, the fact you've won one playoff series in that time frame is pathetic. Bob Nicholson is the issue, he's hired both Chiarelli and Ken Holland (who've set the team back) and waited WAY to long to fire them. |

Absolutely with you on the 2 GMs he has hired, but I think if you let of Tippett, you cant keep any of the existing coaching staff, you need to bring in fresh faces and ideas.

Yeah, I agree with that. Jay was a assistant on McLellan's team, but he's been pretty good down in Bakersfield, so it's worth it to give him a shot for the rest of the season.
I'm not a huge fan of employing coaches that were recently fired. Like Torts for example, you know what he brings you and he's not that great. Same with Babcock.
Hockey is such a reclusive sport that fresh ideas are hard to come by, and old boy clubs rule certain teams (Oilers, for example) |
