They are not a playoff team with him. They really dropped the ball not moving him last deadline.

I don’t agree with that. G, sure but just because he didn’t win the selke last year doesn’t mean he’s useless. If they do go full 10 year oilers rebuild then he can still be shipped out.

Don't you understand we need to perpetually be trading our veterans for prospects and picks so we can build around them perpetually?

The 2nd period was one of those periods where they scored a couple of goals which really masked the fact that they got seriously outplayed in that period. The game followed a familiar path. Outplayed in the first and get down early. Play a poor overall 2nd period. Then make a little push in the 3rd when the opposition is sitting back.

Yes. I think hart played a solid game as well after a horrendous start. With league parity, this is how bad teams normally lose.

19 games in a row for Konecny without a goal. This after he didn't score a goal in the 2020 playoffs.

Looks like another sunk cost contract because he's terrible.

Has nothing to do with him not winning the selke. They dropped the ball. This team is so far from contending. Keeping him does what exactly? They could have got huge haul last deadline as a team would have him for 2 playoff runs on a sweet contract.

He will be 30 years old the first year of his 8 year ext. Where do you think he can be shipped too? Even if he can be moved you will not get back what you could have prior.

Ended up getting back to the game in the second period. My takeaways? Willman had one of the worst shifts of all time at a critical time of the game. He misses a tape to tape pass while short handed and then on the same sequence takes a god awful penalty to put his team down two players. Send him out!

I thought York looked good for the most part and he should stay regardless of who comes back. I was disappointed in his play in the offensive zone however. He had 3 or 4 chances to make something happen in the offensive zone and did nothing. Frost continues to be unimpressive to me and if Konecny doesn't score in the next game that will make it 20 straight games without a marker. Trade him while he still has value!! Hart played his arse off and deserved better. Thanks!

Oh, one more thing while I'm at it. That ESPN announcing crew last night was horrific!!
I don't know who the lead guy was, but he kept getting confused as to which player had the puck. Kept correcting himself all night. A.J Melosko(however you spell it) should have been down at ice level and Boooooooosh should have been the color guy. Thanks again!

The tale of two teams. One team plays 60 minutes of hockey, shows up ready to play at the opening puck drop and takes advantage of the opportunities given them (e.g. gift wrapped 5 on 3 in the 2nd period). While the other team plays in spirts, rarely if ever is ready to play at the opening puck drop and can't finish the many opportunities given them (e.g. 2 break-aways against a goalie who hasn't played since the playoffs last year and a lengthy 5 on 3 in the 3rd).

sounds like a theme of almost every game. I don't know what the fancy stats say, but to me, we come out slow every game. Have a decent 3rd period when the other team is sitting on the lead.

I have seen enough of Frost now to say with confidence that this kid doesn't have it and never will at the NHL level. Another game where he is pretty much invisible.

funny how we pull the goalie.....we move the puck well and dominate possession. why can't the power play do this.

also...does anyone know where to look up the stat. The 5v3 was terrible. Seems like we never score on them but feel we always relinquish a 5v3 goal.

- Peter Richards

well, we had a lot of puck possession once we pulled the goalie, but how many good scoring chances did we really get in the last 3.5 minutes of the game?? Boston was content to keep the pucks to the outside and they did a really nice job.

Have the postponed games been rescheduled? Is it 6 of them?

Maybe the Flyers can just identify as a play-off team!

I'm leaning that way too. You can see the playmaker skills at times, but I just don't know if his game will ever transfer up to the NHL level.

I actually thought the team showed a little pride coming back and tying it up. They just don't have the horses to put them past even a team like Boston however.

Last night was a game where a healthy Ellis and Couturier might have made a difference.

- MBFlyerfan

The Flyers come back, tie the game and have all the momentum, and then in the VERY NEXT shift take a stupid penalty, compound that by taking another stupid penalty giving the Bruins a 2 man advantage and that was the game. It had nothing to do with horses and everything to do with lacking hockey smarts!

Yes they got outplayed, they almost always do. But I at least liked the heart and effort level, which got noticeably dialed up. I thought once again they were just going to roll over and die.

Small positives are still positives lol.

I still don't understand how this team can chronically not be ready to play at the start of games. Its a scouting report at this point. You know opposing teams are saying, lets come out and bury these guys in the first ten minutes, they will get demoralized and the rest of the game will be cake.

- MBFlyerfan

In my opinion it's more about that they're just not very good rather than being ready to play. This team doesn't really have the ability to push against teams.

Who do you think are the Flyers best offensive players? Who is the best goal scorer on the team?

As far as the game goes I thought it was decent game to watch. Goalies played great, typical scrappy Flyers/ Bruins game. I also like the hustle of Zac M. Just missed on that great setup by Hayes. Guy plays the right way, shows up every game.

I feel like York belongs in the NHL. He wasn't a Norris candidate by any means last night, but he showed some poise in a few tight spots and for the most part looked like he belongs.

If I was the coach he would be staying in the lineup in place of Seeler or Connauton when Ristolainen comes back. And he would play in place of Yandle if Ellis ever returns.

Either way, he should stay in the NHL IMO.

Yandle breaks record, Ellis comes back they send Yandle and the other 2 to the press box
