Hains: Getting Ready for the Bruins
The Canadiens resumed their activities on Sunday, but Dominique Ducharme still couldn’t count on his full team as many are still battling Covid or still in isolation in the USA. |

when is jimmy g's contract up?

One more year after this no guaranteed money so an easy cut of trade with no cap hit. A decent playoffs and somebody may make the dumb decision to give up draft picks for him. Regardless 2022 it's going to be Lance's team and that cap space will be used to pay Bosa and Deebo, possibly Tomlinson while adding an edge (or paying Key/Ebukam to stay) and likely anothet CB...most of the roster is already locked up.
And I'm enjoying the tears of Adam French |

Wasn't Jimmy G supposed to be "The Next One?" I seem to recall that from a few years ago. |

Injuries keep hurting them - which is their own fault but the talent has been there since 2019. The 49er roster is top to bottom better than the Packers just the Packers have Rodgers and Adams which makes them better overall. A top 5 QB matters so much |

He's one of the top 5 winningest QBs of all time but he's always injured and can't throw beyond 15 yards or outside the numbers to save his life. He limits the playbook but the portions of the playbook that he can perform he does so at an elite level. Injuries (acl, ankle) have largely sapped any athleticism he had |

let's be honest, the longer they play with a half line up, the better it is for their position in the standings. No rush to get everybody in the line up, hence why Price is still not practicing with the team.
March 21st can't come soon enough, should be a fun TDL this year.
They should announce Mathieu Darche is the new GM next week. He will need to hire a few AGM quickly to be ready for the TDL and the draft |

The Chantal Machabee influence to resolve the situation. She was really against the pic. If they listen to her...they will let him raise his value in Junior and move his ass as part of a package for another player. - Symba007
That's exactly it. I think they wait it out and trade him. He just started playing in the OHL and people are already flipping out on social media. |

If you hired a VP of communications to virtue signal AND reject your first round draft choices you're doing everything wrong from a management standpoint. She literally should have NO say in the matter |

her job is to help manage the public opinion of the team, their image. It's the only way they resolve the backlash they got from that pick. Her job is put options on the table, she won't make those calls, it will be with Molson, Gorton and Darche* to decide.
They might decide to keep the player and try to manage their image over time but Mailloux will always wear what he did, even more so in MTL. |

Hoffman - Suzuki - Lehkonen
Drouin - Dvorak - Armia

Vejdemo - Paquette - Dea

Schueneman - Kulak

As the Habs should be building for the future and with a depleted line-up , Caufield remains on the 3rd line.

You dont need to showcase lehkonen to trade him, he’s a known player and everyone knows what he’s good at…i find this annoying as hell |

I don't think she has a say in it.
My point is that I don't think the new management will keep him.
They should have never picked up that baggage in the first place. |

Caufield should have been left in the AHL when he was starting to find his game back.
I understand that afterwards it all went to hell with injuries and Covid...but he should have got as much ice time in the AHL as possible beforehand. |

Can't really see any new GM wanting to be the person who trades away a prospect whose value they will never get in return just to placate the mob. |

Yes, she'll have an opinion...and absolutely NO say in it and NO power over the decision. NONE. Anybody suggesting otherwise greatly over values the role a VP of communications has. If she says Mailloux must go my imagination is Gorton gives zero (frank)s and he and Molson decide on their own as was the case before she was hired. Nothing changed |

The pick was dumb but happened. They've taken the backlash. At this point if they think he can be a quality top 4 option guess who they'll trot out to spin the reasons why he deserves to be part of the team and how well he has reformed his behavoir? If he can be an impact player the Habs will keep him, if not, they won't...that's pretty much how it always happens in pro sports - see Antonio Brown just recently |

Yup.
Media: why did you trade a potential game changing d man?
Molson/Gorton: twitter mob. It's how every smart organization makes decisions |

After all the poop that went their way drafting him, they'll just trade him away?
At this point, keep him and hope that for once Timmins was actually right.
And we should stop treating him like he's Bill Cosby.

Its because Ducharme is not a good coach. He's been bad from the very bveginning. He has no clue how to win or play for the future. |
