I understand how everyone wants to see a better immediate result, However, making moves to accelerate team success is not the best option.
Look, revenue is being crushed again. The salary cap will take another huge hit again this year as well as next. These kids are going to need to be paid. They just can't risk another Murray the contract. - spatso
This is not a good team and making trades is not going to make it much better. The solution starts with cleaning house from top to bottom. Get rid of the GM, assistant GM, NHL coaching staff and the Belleville coaching staff. |

Did they fly them all the way to BC and then postpone things? And I get they need the money but ….they were willing to play nearly 2 seasons with no fans and already behind on games because of outbreaks. How is not playing them at all helping ? |

It's pretty telling about the team's finances when you see other Canadian teams still playing games. Ottawa has asked for the most postponements. |

Pretty gloomy outlook! Did you only get socks and ties for Christmas?
I have to agree that the team is not looking that great right now but they're going to get a whole lot better in the next year or so even without trades or UFA signings, two things that Dorion has a gift for totally screwing up.
I would be very happy to see the backsides of both Dorion and Smith but I don't see Melnyk, after having given both those guys extensions, telling them to go enjoy themselves at the beach while he ponies up the scratch for another GM and HC. God that's depressing to think of the damage these clowns are capable of inflicting on the franchise over the next two or three years and I have absolutely no idea about how to fix it without a new owner.
I think their pick in the draft this summer, along with how Formenton and Stutzle come along this year, will determine what they need to be looking for in their top six.
Not sure why you don't like the Belleville guys. |

PM was released on his own recognizance Friday, however a restraining order was filed, He can't come within 500 metres of Mr. Melynk and Mr. Dorion. Asked to comment Dorion replied "He needs serious help".

derek stepan scored his 4 goal last night - he has 8 points in 25 games and is +4

Playing on a top 5 team in the league sure helps to hide Stepan on the 4th line. It still blows me away that Stepan and Paquette were in the lineup opening night over Colin White! All because DJ likes his vets and in similar fashion he seems to hold White to a different level than others, much like Logan Brown.

I'm fine with the AHL coaches, they have prepped the kids very well for DJ, it's just that some of them take a dip in development with DJ and his staff. No doubt a top 5 pick this summer would be huge, but it needs to be a kid with high end skill....I still cant believe what Dorion said in his presser 2 weeks ago about Boucher.....Tyler is the type of player you want in the playoffs on your team! Helllllooooo? If you are drafting based on that logic....yikes!

They found out a days before hand so they only flew out today to Edmonton for the game on Monday night.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised considering the owner is name Eugene! I can only imagine the look on Bill Daly's face when he constantly sees his phone ring and up on the screen pops up the name Eugene! He probably answers the phone, what game do you want postponed now EM?!

I think he will be just fine he’s what 6’1 205 18yr old … if he can work his game into some kind of Tkachuk style he is what playoffs needs
I just wanna give him time under Cameron see if he can get his game jump started before I start bashing him 😉🤙 |

Oh and I truly he does, plus I'm glad he made the decision to play junior and leave the NCAA considering his style of play etc.....but it just blew me away that Dorion's first thing out of his mouth about Boucher and his play, upside, was that he's a player you want playing for you in the playoffs......it just seemed so odd but then told Sens fans, that was why the drafted him!

BSens won 7-5 tonight. Mandolese got pulled after allowing 3 goals. MDZ 1G/2A and Sokolov had 2 goals, after only having 4 goals in his first 22 games, nice to see him break out! |

I'm pretty sure you know how I feel about Pierre "Proudest Day of My Life"Dorion but.....
I get it that Boucher is not the guy you wanted to be picked but does that mean an endless campaign by you to run this eighteen year old kid out of town?
Personally I think he might be exactly the kind of player, one of the pieces, you will need in the playoffs if you're planning on winning anything. Lay off the kid and give him a chance. |

Please tell me where I attacked Tyler Boucher? I stated what Dorion said about him. Dorion said what we all thought at the time when he was drafted, he was drafted to play a certain way. Sadly, the kid has taken a ton from Sens fan because many thought they should've drafted other players in that spot. Ususally GM's draft the best player available, but when Dorion said Tyler is who you want on your team come playoff time, it said what everyone criticized management about when he was drafted. Please don't put words in my mouth. I didn't rip on Boucher. in fact, when I posted about it and commented about it, I said, it was great that Tyler and his dad, realized BU was a mistake. How the OHL is made for his style of game.
So to say lay off the kid, I NEVER attacked TYLER!

Agreed, I hope he does. I watched the BSens the last 2 nights online, seeing that Jarventie had more goals going into the weekend than Sokolov, it bothered me that Sokolov seems to be struggling. He is the type of winger that Ottawa needs on this roster in the next 2 years! |

i do no think anyone here attacks these young prospects, the vast majority work hard to be the best they can and hope to make the NHL, some rely solely on their talent and do not work hard or try and they should be criticized but those that work hard day in and day out should be applauded for their efforts and hard work, however unless Boucher somehow explodes in his development he will be nothing more than a 4th liner IF he ever gets to be a regular in the NHL, his tenure at BU was a unmitigated disaster, lets see how he does with the OTT 67's then we will know what he is/can become, still a bad pick at 10th but hey he could surprise who knows he is only 18.
PS i think we all what these kids to be successful whether they are with the sens or other teams. |

I feel certain that if Boucher were to read your stirring words of encouragement and support he would appreciate the wonderful opportunity he is being given here in Ottawa by fair minded fans such as yourself.
People who are pissed off because the Sens didn't pick the guy that they, in their infinite wisdom, wanted need to register ahead with Kevin and reserve a pitchfork for the running out of town ceremony. The kid had fourth line minutes for a couple of dozen games at BU and that was more than enough for the naysayers. |

Unfortunately this year is a write off again.
Dorion and smith will be gone this upcoming summer. Neither can go to the next level.
By 23/24 the window is just starting to close (3-4 years will be open) unless they get serious.
The window is now 22/23. No more waiting years for talent to mature and be sorted out. They have great team friendly contracts. Its time to step up and buyout( 1 or 2) and bring in high end proven talent.
I for 1 am very tired if being told to be excited about this team.
Step it up. Prove it. |
