Based upon standings and stuff, they should declare Canada the winner.

I think it already has, for those of us double-vaxxed.

Taking a rapid test again later today. So far, an annoying running nose, a sinus headache and a bit of lethargy. It could be a cold. It feels like a cold. I am 12 days past my 3rd dose.

Not enough cross-checks - the winner is Austria

There's a simple solution. I did not have a choice to not get the Polio vaccine. Went to school, shot in the arm and done. Removing the ability to harm others should not be open to discussion. You want to jump off a bridge ok, just don't tie my ankle to yours.

Why is covid vaccine a matter of choice when none of the above are?

- winsix

And yet we allow unvaccinated (polio, etc.) people to participate in other areas of our society. If you want people to present full vaccination papers to be able to access restaurants, retail stores, work places, etc. we can certainly have that conversation.

Also, if someone stupidly jumps off a bridge and survives we will hospitalize and nurse that person until they recover. Interesting, that.

And guess what? That's the society I want to live in. I'm vaccinated, my family is vaccinated, the vast majority of people I know are vaccinated, and somewhere north of 80% of Ontario is vaccinated. I hope those vaccination numbers increase and people go and get their 3rd shot. But I'm not going to call people "lepers" and completely cut them off from society. (frank) that.

Lastly, simple solutions are not always the right solutions.

Bobby Margarita tweeting WJHC will be cancelled.
- Atomic Wedgie

That’s frustrating to say the least.

Sucks for the players. You know they waited their whole lives for this, and 4 positive tests cancel the whole thing.

Damn. You know they’re pissed right now.

I thought they took runny nose off the requirements? You probably just have a cold. Or a sinus infection.

How is it any different from the rhetoric that's been spewed from the other side for the last year and a half? I haven't seen people who are vaccinated marching up our sidewalks with signs (frank)ing screaming at everyone.

I've never been one to really care what anyone else thinks or does, I've also removed probably a hundred people from my social media accounts because they just won't shut the (frank) up about their anti vaxx bullpoop.

It's been like this all along, it's just that the tables have turned on them.

- joel878

Just because a vocal subset of anti-COVID vaxxers are being whiny female doges doesn't mean I should do the same.

And no offence, but participating on social media means you do care about what other people say and do. Hell, the very act of removing those dissenting voices is proof positive that you give a poop. I've also seen you get into some very vocal debates on this forum before so I'm not buying the aloof narrative. (I'm the same way)

Do I think anti-COVID vaxxers (or anti-Vaxxers, in general) are largely dumb? Yes. but I'm not willing to tell this group of people "(frank) you and die" and turn them away from every facet of society because they didn't get jabbed.

Story check out….

The rash usually won't itch and it is sometimes so faint that you won't notice it. Other symptoms you may have can include fever, swollen lymph glands, sore throat, patchy hair loss, headaches, weight loss, muscle aches, and fatigue (feeling very tired).

Maybe you should get a check for that to aetherial. You can never be to careful.

You do realize that the survival of the species will come down to "them" and "us" at some point, whichever side you or I are on, right?

If only the opposite side of you had the same compassion for you as you seem to have for them.

Toughen my man. Unvaxxed for no reason are (frank)ing bumholes. Period.

To keep your cozy, safe and whimsical love fest of a lifestyle, you might have chastise and condemn a few bumholes.

It's alright, it doesn't hurt. Actually feels good when they really deserve it.

Besides anti vaxxers are the exact type of people you DO NOT want if you're trying to survive end times. They will eat your (frank)ing children to save their own dumb asses.

I respect your opinion but I think the hyper-polarization of everything is getting so damn tiresome and depressing AF. We're at the point now where we can't even have a rational debate about anything without labeling the other side as Hitler and practicing scorched earth with those who disagree with us because nazis.

If we could just rally around one thing, say hatred of the Habs, we could all see a bit of humanity in each other and maybe walk the perpetually irrational a step closer to rationality.

Pretty big assumption on the social media front, some people consider the human aspect of it to be its biggest downfall and are on it largely to follow businesses, sports teams, watch videos, etc. If anything, being quick to give people the boot would endorse as much, not confirm the opposite.

You clearly are from an area of entitlement on this, because you champion the 80% average like everyone just went out and got it. Not much respect for the idea some of us live in areas where they had to beg, plead, threaten, restrict, and literally (frank)ing pay them to get 60% of the population vaccinated. Because in those areas, respecting the pandemic meant you were scared.. That you were a sheep, and you should go home and let everyone else live their lives.

Your turn, hillbillies. And no, it doesn't mean anyone is saying anyone should die. It means they made their (frank)ing beds, they want to lay in them... They can lay in them.

I don't think it's much of a "big" assumption at all re: social media. Unless your passionate arguing on here is an outlier I'll bet you engage with others as vociferously there as you do here. If you've booted hundreds of people - especially stupid anti-vaxxer types - I think that probably backs up my assumption but yeah, it is an assumption and if I'm wrong, my bad.

Frankly, I think the whole idea of booting or blocking people has become way too easy for people to do and has seeped into how we feel fundamentally about communication... but that's a whole other discussion. I haven't blocked a single person on any social media platform yet based on, rightly or wrongly, principle.

Interesting that you're making some assumptions about my "entitlement" though. I don't feel entitled, I have thought about the vaccine rollout quite thoughtfully, I have engaged with anti-COVID vaxxers on many occasions, and I recognize sacrifices that have been made throughout the process. If you think I'm throwing out the 80%+ number casually you can rest assured that it's not the case nor was it my intention.

At the end of the day, I'm not willing to play scorched earth at this point with the unvaccinated. That's not to say my position is intractable but it does say that I don't think I'm at that point yet. Clearly, there's a bunch here who feel differently.

I genuinely have not made a single post on social media in at least 5 years, not a single solitary one. I have not liked or commented or shared or anything in that entire time either. I use it to follow my interests so as not having to check into multiple things, and that's it.

So basically use that as an example of how a.) you are assuming b.) your assumptions are completely out to lunch and c.) you don't really have an idea of what you're talking about.

That's not being passionate about being argumentative either, that's just trying to get it into your head. 👍

That being said, you can have your positions on the unvaccinated and shunning them from society, that's all well and fine. I however... Don't care what they have to say anymore, I've heard it all. They don't want to reason, they don't want it any other way. They were aggressive in their position of having the world turn a blind eye to this, they've put themselves in this corner and they can play it out however (hopefully quietly) as they want. It's a reap what you sow type deal.

So power to them, go yell at the clouds at home like we who had respect for the pandemic all along were expected to do in the beginning.

I still don't think I made a "pretty big assumption" -- even if it turned out being wrong.
