Guess it depends on your stance of fairness. (there is no such thing) Is it fair that a wealthy businessman makes a shrewd and excellent acquistion? Is it fair that a person/organization that has been on pogey his/its entire existence without dropping a coin into the collective bucket contine to cash cheques?

Oh I think the Coyotes should fold or be moved. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that both owners have their hands out and are taking “pogey” to use your term. The only difference is that in your example, the Coyotes are collecting from billionaires and the Flames are collecting from taxpayers. I’d also guess that Gary’s southern expansion has had something to do with the increasing value of the Flames.

The Maple Leafs have placed defenceman Timothy Liljegren into the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol.

Dammit… he’s been at practice the last couple days. Hopefully the other guys that haven’t been in protocol don’t test positive now.

Muzzin.

He’s so slow, he can’t even catch covid.

Agree it sucks that any sports franchise can squeeze money out of taxpayer money. I also believe that Arizona will finally turn all those NHL welfare cheques into profit when they draft Wright and sell.

I guess the good news is that none of the players have been hit particularly hard by COVID (that we know of).

this wjc sucks ass

To be fair, the round robin portion of the WJC has always sucked ass.

What is the rule on when they can resume after diagnosis?

Great question. I'm not entirely sure. 🤷

I wonder if it's a fixed isolation period or if they simply isolate until they have proof of a negative result.

League just lowered it to 5 days (from 10) with a negative test plus clearance from team doctor where permitted by local health rules. So, 5 days for US teams and 10 days here although Ford may lower it.

I wonder when Canada will adopt those rules.

Half of the people I know that have had it/have it are symptom free after 5 days.

Took me 7-8 days.

I actually have always liked watching Finland/Russia in the round robin because they are always a tier below Canada and put on good games against lower teams.

Canada seems to put on a snooze fest for the round robin then (frank) up half the time in the medal rounds.

It’s not really a question of being symptom free but whether you’re transmitting or not. CDC says the majority of the transmission occurs early but others say you’re still transmitting after the 5 day period.

True, there are always 1 or 2 interesting games per Group but, for the most part, the round robin is pretty boring as the disparity in quality is still very evident.

I don't think the goal here is to get this 100% right anymore...If a handful are still transmissible along with the majority that aren't the risk just isn't nearly as high as it used to be with early showings.

Not to mention the amount of people that are out and about being positive and not knowing it.

No matter how many restrictions they put on it, it’s never going to be perfect.

Infection rates are waaaay up, but hospitalization and ICU are still fine for double-vaxxers.

Time to treat anti-vaxxers like the lepers they are, and let the rest of us get on with our lives.

No double-vax? Not allowed in any public or retail setting.

Everyone else? Have at ‘er.

I’m tired of paying the price for the 10% of the population who (quite frankly) I won’t shed a tear for, should they die as a result of their own stupidity.

Wow, the numbers today are stunning:

https://covid19-sciencetable.ca/ontario-dashboard/

Double-vaxxed does almost nothing to prent you from being infected with omicron.

But double-vaxxers are 92.2% less likely to need hospitalizatin.

And 97% less likely to need the ICU.

I'm double-vaxxed but this type of rhetoric needs to (frank)ing stop.
