it's always the same story with him. plays well, picks up a knock, comes back and is completely ineffective for weeks/months.

there was a yuge group dubbed "the folesian society" by area sports radio that always wanted him to be the starter. most people understand what he really is though.

nowadays you still hear a few people fighting the good fight for him but nowhere near as often.

I've seen guys come back after 1 day and other still on it after a week.

My best guess is that they roll a pair of dices to decide how many days you're gone.

well you can be on the protocol without testing positive right? the rules are pretty clear for guys who catch it.

Yes, for example you can be on the protocol if you had contact with a confirmed case.

And then you roll the dices.

if they cannot trade him this summer, I wonder if they could not buy him out.
I would.

Drouin?

I don't think it makes sense buying him out.

Odds are we won't be a competitive team again next year after trading away whatever older asset we can.

So him costing 5.5M of cap space for another season ain't that big of a deal.

And he's not completely terrible either.

well i think he's got one year left on his deal? id hang on to him. maybe being a UFA puts some pep in his step. although it's just as likely at this point that he retires.

I'm sure a team would take a chance on him for 2.5M for a year.

Some team at the deadline would likely take a shot at it... perhaps the Avs or some contender with an injured player(s).

GMs do stupid things at the deadline.
