Didn't see a second of the game. Watched the highlights and looked at the stats. Great that Couturier and JVR scored but not really much to get excited about. Looks like they were badly outplayed and the Vegas goalie wasn't good. A win is a win though.

Vegas goalie played ok. Hart just played great.
Not going to get many wins with the game they played last night.
Three penalties in the last what 8-9 minutes were a joke. Then last one was as weak as it gets.

Only caught the third period, but ya Harts was the reason they held on. If Risto could be that dominant on a more regular basis, he would lose a lot of his detractors. I agree I thought the officiating made some soft calls. They were penalties, but the consistency was brutal. Nice to see a JVR sighting.

no he wouldnt, there are people that just want to jump on any player that chuck picks up. They just go quiet about RR for a week, then wait until he has a bad period. But provy is awesome. Sandheim has room to grow.....you know the story

Risto was great in the 3rd, however Braun had some awful coverage mistakes on the first two Vegas goals.
- jd250
Yeah, not sure what Braun was doing on that first goal. Provorov was where he should have been, but Braun was lost in space. Looks like Ellis isn't walking through the door any time soon to be the savior. Amazing the the PP is looking better shortly after that turd Therrien was let go. I guess AV died on his Therrien sword. Dude should have never been brought here in the first place.

More flubs and fumbles from TK last night. I'm really wondering if it's time to pull the trigger on that dude. Never seen a guy fumble and flub away the puck more than that guy. Perhaps trading him would shake up this roster in a positive way cause he would actually fetch some goods!!

Brown s play has been a nice surprise. When Nate is healthy he better be the 13 th forward. The fourth line pressures well.

Yeah. They did just put the puck on net a lot. But yes hart played a great game.

The refs seemed to struggle though

Lots of positive signs last night as well.

With Braun I have seen some great plays but then I see some real head scratchers in his coverage decisions. On the first goal Braun left the slot to cover a man that Provorov already had leaving the front of the net alone for an easy tap in. On the second goal, Braun chose to leave his side of the crease and front the forward, however unfortunately by doing so he left his side open for another easy tap in goal off the rebound. The second one is a bit tricky because if you leave that forward alone you get the potential for a deflection goal like the one scored by the Devils the game before, but as I stated previously, when you try to over compensate for coverage gaps in defense, you create new coverage gaps which was the case on these two goals. No Flyer defenseman played perfect however, in the end as Yeo states, when you are playing defense all the time eventually you are going to make mistakes and give up goals.

Made a very sweet pass to JVR on that PP goal however.

You know it, however I am going more and more into the camp of trading Risto at the deadline to get a haul back from a desperate contender that can help the Flyers build their future. Not sure it makes sense to commit years and cap to Risto at the stage this team is in right now.

All those powerplays Vegas had must account for some of the lopsided shot count. Hart made some unbelievable saves, Ristmussen Ratsulainnen was a defensive force in the third, the pp worked, and some guys who should be scoring scored. I didn’t have to turn off the game in disgust in the middle of the second period. It was good step in the right direction.

Pacioretty himself had 10 shots. A lot were from hard angles. But yeah. Feel the flyers should’ve had about 4 additional p p themselves.

they should be trading everyone they can. Keep Ellis and Couts to mentor. Hayes isnt going anywhere. Keep joel because he is young enough. Everyone else should be on the table. Get some prospects, and enough capital to move into the top 5 of the draft

Braun was not at fault for either of those two goals.

Braun was where he was supposed to be. The first goal is on Koncney and Laughton. The Knights second goal is on Couturier.

I'm not sure how many times in needs to be explained that the Flyers play a hybrid overload/man to man defensive zone coverage scheme. When the opposition enters the zone with the puck, coverage is man to man. Their defenseman don't cover areas nor do they have sides. On the first goal, Braun covered his man. Konecny failed to fill the passing lane and Laughton failed to pick up back door. On the second goal, Braun again had his man. Couturier was caught puck watching and failed to pick up Pacioretty
