someone needs to explain to me why they are running Jake Allen ragged at this point. i would imagine the hope is to trade Allen to a decent team where he'd clearly be an upgrade on the incumbents (hello, Edmonton). maybe let teams see that he's getting a bit of rest now and then and won't be a (frank)ing overused dishrag by February?

But Nocharme is actually trying to win, playing the vets and keeping the kids on the 4th line. They are failing at development and winning, it's pathetic

It's hard to pretend you're trying when you role out the goalie from the crepe family on Seinfeld

they are basically fighting for the best odds to draft 1st overall....that's what they have left to fight for, race to the bottom.
- Symba007

considering they are usualy better in the first half of the season... that shouldn't be too difficult lol

DD said it last week. until they (management) ask him to develop players and forget the socreboard, he'll coach to win.

I know. Based on one of Pete's spellings of it I now can only see his name and think:

"You think you're better than me? It's go time!"

you could be on to something. but i don't think it's "trying to win" so much as it's "trying to lose 2-1 or 3-1 as opposed to 5-1". either way, every thing this team does is (frank)ing stupid. a smart team would find themselves out of the race at the 10-game mark and recognize the advantage they have been given in terms of experimentation and focus on development. but this team is (frank)ing stupid. just absolute (frank)ing morons at the helm right now.

He probably shouldn't admit that's what he's currently trying to do

Your point may be correct that it would be tough for anybody to win with this roster.

His point may be both honest and accurate that he hasn't been instructed to develop the kids but to try and win and so he is doing so until told otherwise.

It's still a terrible argument to say what he's currently doing is to try and win when you both look at the results and the eye test from games

When a guy says “Do you want to expose a young guy going toe-to-toe every shift with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews tomorrow? Or against MacKinnon & Rantanen? Or last night against Stamkos and Palat every shift?”

Then replaces the 25 year old with a 22 year old.

You gotta wonder how (frank)ing stupid this franchise thinks it's fan base really is..

I don't see why both aren't playing center, either.
