Good news Khaira will be ok. Hopefully a speedy recovery. He was out before he ever hit the ice.

I think theres potential for him to round out into a Landeskog type player. However I think the immediate thrust into the NHL during the COVID season was an unnecessary mistake. I think he should have played that year in the AHL and crushed it. So now he had to learn and adjust to play at an NHL level on the fly. The biggest knock on LAF is his skating/speed, which at this level can easily be exploited.

I think the other issue is having and developing a chemistry with linemates. I dont think theyve figured out the right combination of players for him to play with where theres a nice synergy. Gauthier seems to have really taken steps forward with LAF and they definitely have a nice thing going, however Chytil is the odd man out there and without a pivot that works it kinda messes the rest of things up.

i was just saying that about kakko at the beginning of the season and then boom, he proved me wrong. Kakko isn't fast by any stretch but he never was at any level and once he got his confidence his ability to protect the puck looks to have made up for that. Hopefully the same goes for Laf

my feeling is that he is a left wing who doesn't feel comfortable playing right wing

and ahead of him in Panarin and Kreider we have two of the best left wings in the NHL

its gonna take an injury to one of them for him to move up into the top two lines, but I see enough talent that if that were to happen, he'd produce

- jimbro83

He is playing 13 mins a night on the 3rd line with little to no powerplay time since the first unit plays most of it. It's really hard to put up numbers with that

I think many people have seen this before, but the hit last night reminded me of it

this is both absolutely terryfing and hilarious at the same time

I know medical care has improved significantly since the 70's, but holy hell

It seemed like Strome was the only one on the ice who realized it

I think he's more like a N Patrick kinda guy. Kidding, low blow
I'm hoping he's just following the Kakko path and will break out by the end of the season or beginning of next. The general feeling I'd say is he's not progressing like we'd hoped but he's also not playing top 6 minutes with top 6 players

This should get everyone in a tizzy

Suppose Arizona wins the lotto….wright refuses to go there…that’s where we step in

Ala the Eric Lindros trade:

we send

-Laf
-Kravtsov
-Kandre
-our first

To Arizona and we get Shane Wright

I already gave my proposal for the 1 OA pick, you must've missed it

2022 1st, 2023 1st, Chytil, Krav, Nils. That's it take it or leave it (or replace Nils with either of Jones or Scheider)

Krav and Miller arent that big of a blow. Would suck losing LAF and not seeing where it goes but for a #1 franchise center, you gotta make that sacrifice I think.

Wright has to refuse tho. Which is definitely possible if Arizona wins it.

like 3 years 2.5 mil a year wasn't enough for that guy, he needed a cherry on top?

Here's the question I have. And I'll preface it by saying I am thrilled with the team right now and we are doing great. But didn't Drury look at our cap situation for the next few years as well as the prospect pipeline we had at LD and see that giving a 6th D man 3 years at anything other than something close to the minimum would end up coming back to bite us? Even at $2.5m, which doesn't seem HORRIBLE in a vacuum.

I’d much rather have Nemeth blocking 100mph power play slappers then anyone else. Use and abuse him is his role and I have zero problems with that🤷🏻‍♂️

He is fine for this season with how much cap space they have. It's something they may need to address this summer when more of the D prospects are ready and cap space disappears.

Nemeth is fine for now and rest of season

off season when they are looking to get rid of some money he probably needs to go, but it doesnt matter right now

I may be in the minority here but I think Nemeth is very tradeable. He's really not as bad as we make him out to be sometimes. Our team's penalty kill has been firing on all cylinders and he's a huge part of that. He's paired with a rookie or Tinordi 95% of the time which is not an easy thing to do. He has his occasional bad giveaways but his NTC is only 8 teams. That means we can still trade him to 23 other teams. And at $2.5M on a short term deal I don't think he's someone we'd have to throw picks in for someone to take. I can see trading him after this year or next for a late round pick. I think the NTC just gave him the ability to say I don't want to end up in Arizona/Buffalo a year after signing as a free agent.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was the plan all along and Drury got him to agree to sign here for this year by saying we'll give you a decent contract and some say in where you finish it out.

What’s his buyout numbers? Can’t be that detrimental
