Also, I am going to miss the beginning of the game. I am hoping that someone can post who the anthem singer is.

Wheeler does not look like he’ll back this regular season. It’s called LTIR and Winnipeg should try and convince Wheeler to stay out for the entire season so that we can pick up either Giroux or Phil “the Thrill” Kessel to arm up for the playoffs.
- TheUltimateJet

All reports are that Wheeler is NOT out for the remainder of the season - more like 3 or 4 weeks. Maybe you hadn't heard?

As well, read somewhere that IF Wheeler misses 10 games we would get something like $1M in LTIR. Far cry from $8.25.

Have you watched Phil Kessel play this season? Playoffs? Hopefully! But not with Phil "the former thrill."

Wheeler might as well be. He should be thinking about the team and pull off a Kucherov.

Phil is also playing for the Coyotes. Perhaps you have not watched the Coyotes as a whole play this year.

I love Bobby Ryan

I don’t know what happened to him this offseason. Does not look like he’s playing hockey anymore.

I have two possible solutions to this problem. We now have 8.25 million in cap space and we can use it on either:

1. Claude Giroux, or
2. Phil Kessel.

Both are right shooting forwards. Both are UFA’s at seasons end and could be had for relatively cheap.

We can most likely get Kessel or Giroux for a first round pick and a B prospect, such as 2022 first round pick and Dylan Samberg. I personally would prefer Kessel as he and Wheeler are real life best friends.

Kessel can be had for less than a first round pick

No kidding. It is a re-occurring scenario this year. Goalie plays well, stymies a talented offense.

The Phoenix game was very similar where their new rookie goalie looked like prime playoff MAF or King Henrich. Same thing as VCR, Demko, and all the other goalies that have beat this talented team this year.

Do we need more talent like Phill the Thrill? Do we need better Dmen? Better goalie? How about systems and coaching?? lol

I am tired of this coaching staff.

I can't imagine the players being too thrilled of playing the same game since 2015.

The whole lot should be replaced, maybe not Lowry but Huddy, Maurice and Kompon should be gone.

Get a coach that grew into or up in this 2020 game instead of these old has beens that try to cling to the past game, unable to adjust within the game.

Chipman with his undying loyalty fits so well with Maurice's undying loyalty and is going nowhere. We've seen this show before.

we stopped scoring ugly goals about 3 years ago - with exception of Perreault and Copp, most of their goals were ugly. Few are crashing the net, setting screens, tips in the slot or high slot. Just high volume of shots mostly clean.

Still waiting for Sheifele to start outperforming that contract again - best players need to be the best players. Furthermore those who are not our best players were out-worked by Buffalo. Can't fire all the players, Mo must go.

Ya, something's gotta change! Not sure what it is - the lines, the players, the coaching, management, systems? Etc! But something!

When we had success we outworked the opposition. That is not happening now! But key to success was effort - a foreign word now!

Don't see any changes coming immediately (unless it's before Friday) as it's too close to Xmas. But I would say that management, coaches, players have until the New Year. No improvement by then = changes. Big changes!!!

I think that we are severely lacking in on-ice leadership, especially with Wheeler out.
Who are our leaders on the ice ?
Scheifele ?
Morrissey ?

Wheeler is part of the problem. I do not know how a guy can play almost the whole power play and not share any ice time with his fellow players be considered a leader.

I love Scheifele, but playing over 25 minutes last night….WTF? Who is running the locker room?

I’ve lost interest in discussing the Jets until Maurice is gone. We have been an average team with above average talent his entire time here. The man knows how to keep a team average
