His shoulder hit his head only because his head was down. Trouba didn't leave his feet, didn't target the head, Khaira had the puck and Trouba clearly, at least IMO, targeted his chest. - Rinosaur
If anything I would hope he was trying to go shoulder to shoulder, but I can't call it 100 percent clean. Maybe the intention was for a clean hit but it wasn't the outcome. He hit him in the head. |

I wish they'd give DOC a shot up with Sid. I know that won't happen, but it would be interesting to see. - Rinosaur
I actually would like that as well, but reason I wanna see Zuck there is that actually may have a chance of sticking even when Guentz returns. |

I feel like "keep your head up" is more like, your head should be on a swivel knowing who/what is around you, like he could have looked up or ahead to see Trouba stepping in at the blue line. - j.boyd919
IDK man. Game moves so fast, I feel like when you're in open ice you can very reasonably think you're good to focus on making a play but miss that one sightline where you see a guy about to truck stick you. It's not like the boards where you have a big area where a guy physically cannot come at you because of the big wall forming a boundary. I just don't think Khairi is at fault or put himself in a bad position, I think Trouba just hit him really hard.
Hockey hits aren't car accidents. There doesn't have to be a party at fault. Sometimes a hard hit just happens. |

In general that’s how I feel about the hit. It’s a hockey hit. Wasn’t really dirty. Just a bit hit. Hockey’s a contact sport, this poop happens. |

It does and yet it's missing a powerhouse of a line
59-71-17
They could all potentially return around same time? |

Rod is really the key, not that he NEEDS to be because he can play 3RW if he regresses this season. So if he regresses:
Zuck-Sid-Rust
Guentz-Geno-Kap
Hei-Cart-Rod
ZAR-Blue-Mcginn
At some point Rust will be back and go on a heater. |

From practice today...
Evan Rodrigues – Sidney Crosby – Kasperi Kapanen
Drew O'Connor – Jeff Carter – Danton Heinen
Zach Aston-Reese – Teddy Blueger – Brock McGinn
Dominik Simon – Brian Boyle – Sam Lafferty
Zucker given a maintenance day. Malkin rotating on the 4th line.
Rust has yet to resume skating. I wonder if he returned too soon and reinjured the same leg? |

Swap Zucker with O'Connor. Second period will start with Simon and Kapanen switching. But who doesn't see that coming.

McCann has more goals and points in less games and better possession stats than Carter. And about 10 years younger. Carter has been good but is bound to slow down even more over the next 2 years.
Really wish we had kept McCann. He'd be 2nd in goals and 1st in PP goals on this team. - Tojo.
Carter is a better Center than McCann. Period. I won't even compare. If you told me McCann for winger I'd be all up for it haha |

Career, most likely but McCann I believe is playing center for the Krackheads, and the stats don't lie. We absolutely could have used McCann this year. I'll say it, I'd rather have McCann/Tanev and Zucker been gone. But I was also on the move Zucker train this past off-season. |

McCann has been bouncing from C to Wing. He's never been a sure thing at C. Capable, yes. |

Not this year he isn't. McCann is getting his chance and running with it. And a couple years ago when McCann got extended time at 2C he did very well, it was when he played 3C with guys like Marleau and Simon when his scoring dried up. |
