That's the wrong question in the NHL now. The question is, Did you lose?
- Sir_Robot_Farts

They give us two columns to show the answer to that question.

Was listening to Boomer and Hahn on the NHL Sirius/XM Network this afternoon, and they were discussing trading Giroux. They seem to think he would fetch a first rounder and a prospect if he were to be traded. Do it!! Although I'm guessing this would occur closer to the trade deadline.

With our draft record, what good would a 1st rounder be? JVR? NP?

Well, if nothing else it might stop the people from their incessant whining about giving up the first rounder for Risto.

It would be a late 1st rounder as only a legit playoff team would want him. If and that's a BIG IF he waives his NTC

Oh absolutely. The Flyers drafted JVR 2nd overall in 2007. Which is 14 years ago, so therefore, what good is a first round pick to the Flyers. Makes sense to me!

It's really something to behold if they are not.

Interest is being lost, and ticket sales are harder, and harder to come by.

The path they are currently on, will simply lead to more of that. I usually try to stay civil, but what blind moron still believes that they are a couple good trades, or a good summer away from having a contention window that lasts longer than a Carter Hart hot streak?

People don't buy it anymore, and rightfully so. Rebuild, and stop further damaging a brand that's losing its lustre.

- FlyerFan3260

I agree. I'm not saying a rebuild can't or won't happen. But I'll believe it when I see it.

Listen, I don't know what everyone is concerned about. The Flyers will trade a few players and get 3 first round picks. Those players drafted will jump right into the lineup. Top players like Panarin and Fox are readily available every year.

if the same people are making the picks -- will it matter?

Look at the Eagles, they will have 3 first-round picks next year. Dollars to donuts two, if not all three will be busts if Howie is in charge as gm

9 points behind Wings in the last Wild Card spot. 2 games in "hand" they need to start on their 12 game winning streak. 😎
