Last night was the first game this season that I was excited to watch. What a refreshing change, let's hope they maintain it.
Man, Christmas came early this year!

Last night was the first game I watched period. I listened to the first 15 games or so and then just checked out on Green like the players did.

Heard that the players very much checked out on Green and the whole management, and basically Smyl acknowledged that.

Also heard that when the Pens were in town, Crosby was saying that the Canucks are very much thought of as a joke in the league. Hopefully that's a-changin'.

Anyone else notice BB had his shoulder twitch back last night? Def the most engaged he's been in a while.

Petey is next to get off the snide.

Love that they had a little fun / even poked jokes at Demko.

I'm glad filthy Bruce is back. How will this be different than the failed Tortarella experiment?

Yeah, I don’t consider them even remotely similar in coaching style or approach.

Odd what moving your feet can accomplish during a game. See if they can do that in 2 straight games.

“I think it meant a lot to Petey… if you give him a chance like that, he’ll go through a wall for you,” says Quinn Hughes on Pettersson getting ice time on the PK.

Says he also wants to make a case to participate, and help the team when they’re shorthanded. #Canucks

Reading between the lines, it's becoming painfully obvious that the players checked out under Benning/Green

There is no reading between the lines, it was clear that they quit because they were tired of Green's little details.

Last night if there was a puck, someone skated towards it hard. Under Green's system they would all turn and look around to see if they were out of position and see if they were supposed to be the player to go after the puck.

I don't know how the same players last night that Benning put together managed to play so much better. Benning got shafted by FA.

It's too early to jump to conclusions regarding the roster, they'll have a week or two where they go all out to impress the new coach but then some guys will get smaller roles than they had under Green and we'll see if those guys continue to play with the same enthusiasm as they are now. Honeymoon period is in full effect right now.

Boudreau's system is night and day from Green's for sure though.

They checked out the summer that Tanev, Toffoli & Markstrom left. Players openly questioning management moves or lack there of, is a pretty clear sign of disconnect.

The philosophy that your best players play your PP and PK is and has been foreign to the canucks. Boston has Bergeron and Marchand on PP1 and PK1.

Green had the worst PK in the league and continued to use the teams worst players with lamikko, Pearson, motte, Richardinson.

Roster still obviously has holes but was nowhere near as bad as the record showed.

The only player that enjoyed anything under Green was Miller because he was playing 22 minutes a night no matter what.

I'd like to ask Bruce what his opinion is about a system where you let the opposition pepper the goalie with shots for 60 minutes like Green tried to convince this team.

I'm sure the answer would have no less than 25 fux in it.
