This is why I like Fletcher's approach to not try to fill the coaching position this year, just keep Yeo there and see how it works. The reason is its in the off season that CF will be able to have a choice of several good coaching candidates to hire, that is if Yeo does not work out. One example is today there is talk that Cassidy might be out as Bruins coach if they don't turn it around this year; if true Cassidy would be a great candidate to coach the Flyers. So its better to play this year out and make the decision in the off season.

Fletcher decided to fire Vigneault sometime between the end of last nights game and when he informed Vigneault and Therrien. It's not as if he has time to make calls and give interviews. When you fire the coach and have a game the next night, kind of have to get a coach in pretty quickly. Otherwise I agree, wait until all the candidates are available. I'd like to see them find the next rising star coach. Who knows who that is.

We can only hope they follow the same path to success ie continually losing in the first round.

Are you still convinced that the Flyers are in a better place than the Leafs?

I disagree. Look at the Wild right now, they are a pretty good team, and that is essentially Fletcher's team. I am very comfortable with Fletcher at the helm here. He hired AV, it didn't work out, that happens. No one is perfect in any job, sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't. But I believe he is a good GM and will eventually get this going in the right direction.

Look at the Wild's cap picture in the next few years. 22/23 $12,743,588
23/24 $14,743,588 24/25 $14,743,588 all dead cap space. That's Fletcher's team.

Fletcher is a solid drafter but you don't want him anywhere near your team making NHL moves. He reinforced that this past off season.

This wouldn't be the first time the Wild look great riding unsustainable %'s before experiencing a total collapse in the second half of the season.

What’s the feeling in the room? Ride the year out with Yeo and see if he can turn it around and evaluate in the off-season? Or search for a coach now? I know the Minnesota connection and the track record there, but what’s the right thing to do now? I don’t even know what coaching candidates are out there right now. If they are in a deep enough hole, does it make sense to just wait until the off-season?

The Flyers are missing that one goal Vorecek has scored.
- landros 2

No, but they may be missing his 10 powerplay points. Isn't that more than the entire Flyers team?

Yeo won’t have any more success than any of the other coaches that have come through town. Another off season of drafting and moves is in order.

Idk what coaches are even out there now. I wouldn’t mind going the with a guy with a strong track record from juniors.

No. There is no worse sports franchise on the planet than the flyers. But the leafs are still only a make the playoffs lose first round team.

IDK, I am SHOCKED at the level of criticism MJL has shown today.

I mean there is really no way that anyone who follows this team closely can’t be fed up right now. This franchise is an absolute circus.

My depression didnt even set in yet.

Once they finally finish restructuring (they CANT be done yet) will it finally set in.

I'm still not even convinced they are lucid about the state of the team yet.....coaches get fired, but dedication to a years long rebuild has not, as of yet.

Unfortunately he'll wear out his welcome by 2023-24 then it's on to the next guy.

Over the last few days the GM comes out multiple times & says “I’m in charge & it falls on me”. AV prior to being let go “I’m driving the ship & it falls on me”.

The crap captain “WE have to figure it out”

Real men taking accountability using I. Frauds using we.
