Looks like BB will get along with Miller on the F bombs, but definitely not on the moping

I really like Bruce, not sure if some of the Canuck players can handle being treated like that though.

I think, more than anything, Jim Benning’s ultimate downfall as #Canucks GM was his inability to assess and acquire legitimate #NHL defensemen through draft, trades & free agency. There were other issues, sure, but none more so than building a defence corps — over 8 years

It is hard to find NHL talent and good NHL talent and that's why it's better to create it.

curious to see if today’s moves open door to more roster churn between #NHL & #AHL #Canucks. The reluctance to make even a few call-ups from farm was bizarre for an 8-win team. Issues much larger than bottom of line-up, but why not try to prove that roster spots are not a given?

I'm looking forward to seeing what lines BB puts out there after the first 10 games. Hopefully we see something more consistent/inspiring than the blender du jour of Travis Green

So….a new era is upon us, I couldn’t be happier! Honestly. Bruce Boudreau is an experienced NHL coach with a winning record, and he loves to curse.

Do I see an immediate turnaround, no, it takes time to change mindsets’ and adjust the personnel. It’s a step in the right direction finally though.

Gabby. We have a BB in Brock Boeser.

I'd like to see Smyl trade for a RH C for the PK. I've got Ryan Carpenter in mind who will be traded for Lammikko.

I'm listening to that podcast Gabby did on Bob McCown last week. Same as any other coach, he sounds like he knows what he is doing. Travis talked a big game but could never get the results.

Classic Van fan. Strong feelings.

I don't think I've even cracked a smile at all the firings even though I wanted the coaching staff gone.

Five years I’ve been telling you guys Benning is a complete twat, well you know what, the proof is in the results….so here we are. Year eight and near the bottom of the league again.

Told ya'll that Green signing would be the end of Benning. The best signing for the haters in JB's whole tenure.

Benning trying to fight against other forces beyond his control. Ex. the floods.

He wasn't as bad as you make him out to be as GM. You're just the hysterical type. See: Feelings

In the end he would usually undo the good thing he had done.

Start out by trading Forsling and not developing him.

Trading for Baertschi instead of drafting hindsight Rasmus Andersson.

Extending Sutter for way too much.

Trading McCann for Gudbranson.

Those are the 4 hindsight things that I think hurt him the most. GM's miss on high draft picks sometimes. It's normal.

He's getting 100 plus NHL games out of all of his first round picks except for 1. Nothing to complain about unless you're Pacific GeM with absolutely unrealistic expectations.

Most believe that Benning never wanted Green and that Green was FA baby.

My disdain for him grew out of philosophy more so than singular moves. Some of that falls on ownership, maybe more than Benning himself. At the end of the day we are now moving on with new people, so I’m happy!

Same thing going on in Philly, Dave Scott and Francesco Aquilini are meddling ass-holes. To what degree will go down in folklore.

Love me a good fairy tale.

If the Canucks win the cup in a year or two. Does Benning get any credit?
