Lots of "Armchair GMs" on here.

A real fan sticks with the team through the thick and thin.

The Flyers have played a quarter of the season.
They could just as easily go on a winning streak.
You have to play one game at a time.

Management is fine. The coaching is fine. Lots of players are injured, but it will even out. The players are fine.
They just need to pull themselves out of the funk they're in.
It will happen.

Some of you act like the additions and subtractions made in the off-season were going to instantly make the Flyers a Cup contender.
No need to go nuclear on this team, or the organization.
Some of the comments on here are simply ridiculous.

Jack Adam's award winner told us that the issue last year was lack of practice time. This year it will be injuries
- corduroy

All we hear are excuses. Like no other team has had injuries? Or lack of practice time? This is a bad mix of players. The coaches are frustrated and it's not working out. This GM is either lying to us or is delusional.

By no means am I giving the coaching staff a pass. In fact I was saying AV should have been gone after the Devils road game.

Yep, keep going soft on these pathetic Flyers players. That'll work. Worst Flyers team assembled and no end in sight.

Don't bite the hand that feeds. Everything is great in Flyers land.

It's not going soft. A 4 hour practice is simply stupidity.

I actually suggested a 15.5 hour practice. It was a sarcastic comment. I was insinuating these players need a wake up call.

Blockbuster deal Giroux, Konecny and 2nd round picks to Ottawa for Stuzle and Tkachuk.

2nd time you've made up a trade with Giroux going to Ottawa. Why would Giroux want to go to Ottawa and why would Ottawa make that deal? They would laugh at the Flyers.

I misread thinking it was 1130AM. Your follow up post suggested it wasn't sarcasm.

Hysterical...a UFA and a 2nd line winger for 2 young stud players...throw in Hart and Provorov and maybe they would listen

McClennon the savior is coming.
I think this team has sacrificed enough of it's players to the hockey gods this season.
Hopefully they are pleased with our offering the last 15 or so years and they are merciful enough to bless us with a legit top line player one day soon

Nobody said everything is great. But your suggestion was beyond asinine. Not even the most hardass coaches who ever lived -- not even Viktor Tikhanov, Keenan at his most worked up, hell not even the nearly certifiable Bill LaForge -- would have his team practice for hour after hour. And to do it the day before you start a stretch of five games in seven nights would be cutting your nose off to spite your face.

This will now be 9 of the last 10 years that the Flyers miss the playoffs or lose in the 1st round.

This type of consistency screams the roster is bad. The GMs failed. The coaches failed.

Some fans get carried away with 'moments' of playing well. Good teams maintain success. Not just have 'moments' or stretches of good play. They are able to sustain it. The Flyers has sustained nothing but pissing off the fans and mismanaging the cap and overvaluing certain players.

Average to below average teams do exactly what the Flyers have done the last decade.

Mismanaging the salary cap drags this suffering on longer and longer.

It was just sarcastic Bill. Maybe you misread my original comment like MJL? I suggested a 15.5 hour practice, of course that's not realistic. The intent of my post was to imply these players need a kick in the butt. They don't seem to care about any consequences for putting in such little effort every night. They still get paid either way.

Indeed, both on the team’s misfortunes as well as the loudmouth ham ‘n eggers who pack this room tossing the same barbs and carping over the same problems with their simpleton panaceas.

They need a wholesale correction on how this team does everything. It's clearly not working. The problem is they fired the last guy who tried to do that. We know they won't though. Scott and crew will keep going for it and try and try again.

So what does that tell us? When an entire team is in a funk for the second season in a row. This team is not a team devoid of talent.

While I think there have been small windows where the effort has not been there. Overall, this team's issue is not effort. It's coaching, roster makeup and talent.

No one is taking Couts on that contract which hasnt even kicked in yet...way too long term for his age
- hfc355

Said it was a very bad idea when it happened but everybody loves Coots. In a vacuum it is a risk worth taking, but unfortunately, the Flyers did not have the cap flexibility to do this as they already loaded up on injury riddled crap -- Hayes, Ellis, Atkinson, soon to be Giroux and Risto

Re-signing Couturier was absolutely the correct move. Right now, they should look to trade Giroux and Ristolainen at the deadline.
