I'm all for a tear down but not a full blown "Trust The Process" style tank. - Pelle31Forever
You may get your wish. In a cap era, the Flyers are always willing to spend to the cap….there is absolutely no need for a full blown rebuild. |

So what does that tell us? When an entire team is in a funk for the second season in a row. This team is not a team devoid of talent.

Another take could be not EVERYONE is in a funk and there are just some who aren't good. |

Lots of "Armchair GMs" on here.
A real fan sticks with the team through the thick and thin.
The Flyers have played a quarter of the season.
They could just as easily go on a winning streak.
You have to play one game at a time.
Management is fine. The coaching is fine. Lots of players are injured, but it will even out. The players are fine.
They just need to pull themselves out of the funk they're in.
It will happen.
Some of you act like the additions and subtractions made in the off-season were going to instantly make the Flyers a Cup contender.
No need to go nuclear on this team, or the organization.
Some of the comments on here are simply ridiculous.

Oh the irony because this was the most ridiculous post made. As if you're not a true fan unless you turn a blind eye to reality and profess that everything is unicorns and fairy tales.
If you make moves and trade top picks and young players and it doesn't make you a contender, what is the point? In case you haven't noticed. Not only are they not a contender. They're also not even a playoff team. Hey, it will happen. Everything is fine. Go Flyers! Yea team!

There is a handful of players that are role players and or at the end of their careers. If the team was playing well, they wouldn't stand out so much. If you want to just limit it to the talented players. Is there any talented skaters on the team having a good year?

This is the first paragraph from the most recent NJ Devils blog
"The New Jersey Devils have lost their last three games by being outscored 18-8. Last night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets was no different than the previous two losses. Lack of execution, discipline, and at times effort has caused this downward spiral. Changes need to be made. Or else the Devils will have to play catch up in the standings in order to make the playoffs towards the end of the season."
Except for the recent game against the Flyers. They have another upcoming chance for change. |

Your optimism is great and everything but I’m not seeing what you are.
Keep in mind the team played the same last year. Now with at least 5-6 new bodies they are still pooping the bed.
I might agree if they had a solid year last year but they didn’t.
I think they should be better than they are.
I expected a bubble playoff team to safely in the bottom playoff team area.
What we are getting now is high end lottery ball team. |

Can you name me a single skater on the team that you think is having a really good year? - MJL
Carter Hart, but he’s not a skater.
Giroux has played pretty well, and Farabee and Braun have been ok. What’s killing this team, besides the ineptitude of the coaching staff and injuries, are two key players who are really struggling: Provorov & Couturier. |

Farabee had a 13 game stretch where he had 1 point. Giroux has been okay, not great. Couturier has not played well. Provorov played well early but his play has slipped. What we're seeing is what happens when a team is dysfunctional overall with poor systems play and structure. Eventually what was good individual play is going to start to falter. It becomes mental and then it degrades. Only a true elite player may be able to overcome it. It's pretty obvious to me that coaching a change needs to be made. I think the GM should go also but there's no chance of that. |

I agree, but I also think a new coaching staff won’t be the only thing that needs to be done. I listened all off season to the Covid excuse….this team is fresh out. To Fletcher’s credit he did attempt to fix some problems, it just hasn’t worked. I’m not sure he has any answers. - landros 2

Yup, the entire toilet is badly in need of flushing. Chuck and the entire coaching staff need to go. |

Oh right! because we all thought Seeler as top pairing fill-in would work. Braun although above his depth does well with Provy, but then the 3rd pairing falls off. Small sample but Provy looked great with Ellis. He did well previously with Niskanen. It really isn’t up to him who the Flyers acquire, and he doesn’t have any say over just now being tried with Risto or not having an opportunity to try with Sanheim or anyone else.
Of course someone to blame, just like all the blame it on the C is a load of crap. - NC Flyers Fan
The M*A*S*H Unit that should be following this team around needs to add a Psych Ward for all the mental softies on this team.

There is no quick-fix solution. It seems like a systemic problem with this team. GM changes… same result. Coaching changes… same result. Big moves, little moves, no moves… same result. PP issues, SH issues (never seems both are good at the same time). We fans go through the roller coaster process - up, down, apathetic, angry, trade this guy, fire that guy, this guy stinks… rinse repeat. It’s frustrating.
That being said, wouldn’t it just be fun to watch this team higher someone colorful like Torts? Or ask Pronger to coach. Trade for or sign big personalities (who didn’t have fun with Bryz’s Humongous personality?) Make news and hire a Howe, Lindros, Briere, Gagne to replace Scott and Fletcher. Then, just for good measure, make Murray Craven, Ville Leno, and Sami Kapanan, your new PR team! Can it really get worse? |

That would be a GREAT idea right in front of playing five games in seven nights. With that sort of insight and planning, it's a shame you're not coaching in the NHL. - bmeltzer
Yep, keep going soft on these pathetic Flyers players. That'll work. Worst Flyers team assembled and no end in sight.
Don't bite the hand that feeds. Everything is great in Flyers land. |
