Liljegren will be sent down since other than Sandin he’s the one guy they have that doesn’t need to clear waivers
As for the left wingers it will be Engvall I’m guessing who will be sat during this…
Guessing LW will be 1: Bunting, 2: Mikheyev, 3: Kerfoot, and 4: Ritchie/Engvall
For a short period of time to be able to trade Mikheyev for closer to what they feel he’s worth. - Dozzer
I think they use the time to evaluate and make a decision rather than just showcase Mik. If he does well, maybe they prefer to keep him and move Ritchie. He’s been playing well but is overpriced for the Leafs needs. If Mik shows he can play top six in an insurance role, maybe they slot him into 3LW and move Engvall to the 4th and save Nick’s $2.5M.

Think they give Ritchie a chance, if only to see what he can do in the playoffs

I don’t mean to sound like Pessimistic Pete here, but chances are we won’t have to send anyone down, as another injury will happen to someone. - Atomic Wedgie

I do wonder if Dubas hasn't already been working on and has something lined up to make a trade and deal with all this cap crunch stuff right away even? Never know.
Still if not, I think Dozer is right with the short term Lilly down and then showcasing Mik to make a move with him and get something for him.

I think we need to be careful to not lose any more forward depth before the playoffs

Mikheyev won’t be put on the third line. He asked to be traded due to that being his job with the leafs. If Keefe did that all of a sudden the leafs would have negativity coming from him due to his unhappiness over his role in the roster.

Maybe, but this year the third line has a role and some pretty good press and playing with Kase would provide some real offensive potential. But you’re right, if he thinks he automatically replaces Kerfoot or Bunting, move his ass out. (Unless he #hoews something real quick.)

Yup, he wants a top 6 role so show him off and sell him asap
Hearing Woll gets the start Sunday against The Jets and Mrazek is starting for The Marlies against the Laval Rocket on his conditioning stint
I really don’t know how I’m gonna feel if Mrazek loses and Woll wins - Dozzer
Won't matter how we feel, Mrazek is the backup and 3 or 4 good games from a rookie won't change that. 🤷🏻♂️
Imagine they dump off Mrazek right now and Woll shows everyone the hot start was a flash in the pan. Then we what... Ride the hell out of a starter who's previously been injury prone?
We did this with Sparks and Hutchinson, it went very bad.

Oh this is the thing! I completely agree with you… hence why I said I don’t know how’d I feel… I’d be hating the idea of counting on Mrazek but I’d also know I was wrong.
Rather him get 25 games or so in this year, play well, so the leafs can move him in order to be able to afford Campbell. But none of this needs to be done til the summer.
