Rangers place Shesterkin on IR for which he must remain idle for at least one week's worth of time, which would include their next three games starting with tonight's home matchup vs. Chicago.

Adam Huska has just been recalled from Hartford to serve as Georgiev's backup, in addition to forward Morgan Barron having been officially recalled about one hour earlier.

Given Gallant's post game words on Shesty's injury being "not as bad as it looked," the Rangers have an opportunity to showcase Georgiev for at least the next three games, with hope for recovering some of his recently diminished trade return value. That either separately, or as a piece in a multi package sent to fill their needs for a middle RW, &/or faceoff winning aid by the trade deadline, just prior to his contract expiring.
