Just start taking an axe to this roster, it's all I'm interested in - OB
that's what February to March 21 will be for....patience my friend.
Get to know the team, hire the GM, finalize the plan forward, start executing. |

I don't think it will happen before next summer, except for the few pending UFAs - fidopro
if the team is willing to retain salary....the market opens up for the TDL.
the 2022 draft will be super important for them, glad to see the usual crew won't be there....and the draft is in MTL |

Pat Brisson? - fidopro
he probably makes A LOT more than what the Habs are willing to pay for the GM but yes he would be ideal |

I think they just dont want to pay double salary in a year thats already lost - Xizord
i don't think $$ has anything to do with it. i think if there was a long-term solution available to them (i.e. Alain Vigneault getting fired, some other coach becoming available), they'd make their move. but there's just no point in firing him otherwise because there's no one in-house to take over. i think anyone else in the organization would be just as calamitous as Ducharme and so we just have live with the risk he poses for another 50 or so games.

i was thinking, time is not going to be kind to Bergevin's tenure. he had most of his success the first 3 years, before he put his stamp on this team. the last 6 years of his tenure included 4 catastrophic seasons, 1 legit playoff appearance... and whatever that was last spring. |

covid saved his job IMO, the team should not have made the playoffs the past 2 years |

they have 21 wins in 63 games since Ducharme was promoted and Burrows joined the staff. |

without question. if Toronto scores in OT in games 5 or 6 i think Molson cleans house last May. but they didn't, because it's the Leafs.

Ducharme is safe for the season he just said at the end
Hello lottery pick - Symba007
This should not be a surprise.
I also would not be surprised if Gorton hires and places a veteran assistant on the coaching staff, to get a feel for wtf is really going on in this dressing room and help identify fixes that need to be made.
But it is almost a certainty that DD will not be back come next training camp. |
