The Nashville 3rds looks like a sweatshirt - which is what the kids want to wear today. I respect that.

As for the Leafs logo, I've always found it to be meh. It's a maple leaf - not a particularly good one - and then you write "Toronto Maple Leafs" across the front. There's no creativity to it.

I'd like to see a jersey where they use the logo, without the "Toronto Maple Leafs" written across it.

The old shoulder patch logo:

Not disagreeing with you (I'd like to see a mock up with that leaf and the team name above/below the leaf vs on/through it) but the Leafs have always had the team name inside the leaf itself in every jersey they have worn with a leaf on the front.

They had the big "T" when they were the Arenas and St. Pats in font of course for the St. Pats jerseys but otherwise it's the name inside a leaf.

Personally I think my favourite Leaf jerseys are the whites with that older style leaf on the front and the blue shoulder yokes and the 2014 outdoor classic at the Big House (blue with white shoulder yokes and arm stripes).

I can't seem to get the photo hosting site I use to work to post pics here but both are listed / shown on this page that has a jersey history of the Leafs with mockups of the jerseys:

This is going waaaaaaaaaay back, but do you remember when Mr. Sub would give you the carboard, 3D TTC bus?

Had to have been the weirdest crossover promotion ever.

Ha I totally do!

You can get cardboard GO Trains here and there now.....usually being handed out at Union station when they are running an educational campaign or something for kids - sometimes given to you by the GO Bear.

Speaking of which my boss just today gave me the greatest piece of information he has shared since he took over in March that I will treat as the absolutely piece of gold that it is.

We were discussing a complaint from a 'group' and we keep asking fro the name and nobody will mention it so as a joke I send my boss only a note on Teams during the meeting saying to him "must be the polkaroo".

He replies with: Hey, I was Polkaroo in Grade 13 - our high school did a Christmas special and I was the "real" Polkaroo for one episode - it was an external shoot at the Mississauga Christmas Parade!

He will likely regret sharing that piece of info with me when the polkaroo meme's start to appear in work emails here and there......

No bids yet, there's also a Tie Domi locker/stall available. Possible man cave piece, original seat from the Gardens

And since we have wandered down this way, this is the best logo in the history of sports:

Yes, better than the Hartford Whalers' logo.

Gorton was the GM of the Rangers from July 1, 2015 - May 5, 2021:

Outside of landing Lafreniere and Kakko, his drafting has been somewhat suspect with guys like Andersson and Kravtsov as obvious misses (even ignoring some of the drama surrounding Kravtsov's treatment by the organization). There are some guys who will likely pan out to some degree - Schnieder, Miller, Chytill - but there are a number of high picks that aren't doing what you need them to do.

But in trading . . .he landed Adam Fox for 2 2nds. He landed Lemieux and a 1st for Kevin Hayes - he turned that 1st with Pionk into Trouba (maybe a miss, but it was a good deal at the time). He turned Spooner into Strome (who has 50 goals and 150pts in 200 games; Spooner popped in 2 goals for the Oilers, and now plays for a team I bet he can't even spell: Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg.

Now, granted, he was central to decomposing a team that was decent - trading off assets like Stepan, Raanta, Rick Nash, McDonagh, JT Miller . . . to foster their rebuild. It amounted to a lot of deck chair shuffling - but did land them a number of 1st round picks. If they had better scouting, the Rangers would definitely be in much better shape.

I'm not saying that Gorton's act with the Rags was a complete poop show. There were some fine trades that unexpectedly worked out really well (e.g. Adam Fox, though lest we forget this was the 2nd time he was traded).

I'm less willing to give a lot of credit to drafting and scouting because I feel a lot of that is voodoo.

But the Rags missed playing in the 1st round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs 4 consecutive seasons (unless you want to be charitable and consider the Best of 5 QO round where they got swept a 1st round).

To wit: I don't think Jeff Gorton has proved a damn thing in his tenure as an NHL GM. Maybe it works out in MTL but calling the Rags out for being "dumb" for dumping him seems a bit curious considering the lack of tangible results.

No real comment here beyond another great site (IMHO) to go to for logos/jersey history:

Completely agreed.

Having said that, the retro love the Hartford Whalers gets for its logo (admittedly, pretty clever) and jerseys always gives me a good chuckle.
