After all the fuss the Buffalo Sabres made over Jack Eichel wanting to get Artificial Disc Replacement surgery rather than disc fusion, it appears his decision to stand his ground is having an impact on other players. The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that Tyler Johnson will be out around three months after undergoing neck surgery Friday.
It will be interesting to keep track of the players now that it is not just Eichel. Two guys now out there getting hit.

People are knocking Dahlin but he is 1 point of leading the team in scoring and helps drive the offense. Sure defensively he needs to improve but he is only 21.
When he is 23, 24, 25 he will be getting 60-80 points a season - sabresfan69
One of if not the only fight Kaleta straight up won.
Nothing beats the one where he punches himself in the face though - Stripes77
Wish we had a Kaleta-type on the team now. I miss the fights, the turtles, the late injury-creating hits, the huge legal injury-causing hits, the pesky/pesty parts, the instigator parts, the a$$holeness, the bad penalties, the occasional goal ... all of it. At least he showed passion.
Hate to say easy part now that the Surgery is done, but the big part of this surgery will be coming up when he takes a big hit or a cross check to the back and hopefully the Disc doesn't shift or move.

It wont.
The risk of the surgery was severely overblown here.
