they really shouldn't go two years...they're already too far into this season to alter the course too much (although it's something i'd take in a heartbeat) but to pile on another year of losing is like giving kim another start-up company she has no knowledge of or experience in

It shouldn't take 2yrs, they have the assets to acquire some help without destroying there future.

do they even realize that they have created a losing culture beginning eight years ago and if they do, what's gonna flip it to a winning culture?
- Michael Pachla

What would you have done differently as Adams? Reinhart return pissed me off, but I know feelings are mixed. Jack and Risto seemed to be okay returns. He's bargain shopping and should be going all in to win now or as much as possible, is that it?

No, not going all in, but we have assets we could use to acquire a player or 2 to help the present and the future.

Just as long as Quinn, Peterka, Power and Krebs aren't part of the assets going out. Trade one of those LHD.

Like what? Just curious. Do you trade one of those 1sts for a RHD or forward and a 2nd for a starting goalie this year? Korpi and Buch could've been had in the offseason at that rate as an example. Is that enough? We're that close? Or did we just trade a late 1st and 2nd in a deep draft when we still are stinky?

if they went out and got a goalie, a real goalie this past offseason

they would be adding more girgens, armia and pysyk type players to the rebuild (drafting 14-22)

by not getting that goalie, they are going to add another power/cozens/quinn type player for the rebuild

embrace the tank as we should be turning the corner in the fall of 2022

Of course, use your surplus LD, add a 1st, probably gonna have to trade a forward to make room, pick one other than the above and a few others Cozens Tage so forth, and use that player. There are ways of doing it while still filling the cupboards with prospects.

i have no problem trading the big three, and i'm actually thrilled with the overall return they got...nor do i have a problem with what they're doing up front although there may be one or two many larry's...i also think that the goaltending situation is about the best they could do and no, i wasn't re-signing linus at the rumored 6yr./$36m deal (or thereabouts) contract he was looking for...

said from the beginning that the defense was weak...and that group is, but i'm not sure what was available to begin with...having said that, i'm inclined to think that going after theodore over krebs in the vegas trade might have been more beneficial to this team...not that i'm saying it was possible, but you put him next to dahlin and that defense is upgraded substantially...

from a player standpoint a couple (few) tweaks to upgrade would have been nice...

i also think they had the opportunity to help their rookie head coach with an upgrade in assistants...would really have liked to see dan girardi behind the bench working with the d-corps

You can say that about any franchise once you start bringing the pieces in That actually work The winning will start And everyone will forget

I think that happens in another year or so when guys like johnson, rosen, poltapov, and kisakov are tearing it up in rochester with 1 or 2 goalies playing lights out down there

Korpisalo could still be had, but he is a UFA. And yes I would trade Florida's or Vegas's 1st for a RD.

this is assuming they draft the right players, make the right trades and signings and find the right chemistry

right now the blueprint looks great on paper but it needs to translate into wins starting in fall of 2022

that's not true, gerbe's...sorry, it's more of a cop-out...

it starts at the top and it's indisputable that this team under this ownership has given us the worst hockey in the history of the franchise...we're still "waiting for the winning"...65% losses, 2 of 3 games since the tank began, yet they go back to the same ole "losing to win" philosphy...

do they, and you too, think you just flip a switch and the team starts winning after what will be 10 years of losing?

a late first gets you a montour type player

I think the bar needs to be higher

That all seems sensible to me. I've fallen in love with Krebs and the idea of him getting 70 assists and 5 goals in the NHL lol, but you're probably right with Theo/Dahlin. Could've saved an asset.

Just not sure this was enough or if there's any way we were ending the losing cycle this year. Cozens, Mitts, Tage, Olo and others have made steps and it's still far from enough.

He might ask for a trade before too long. His body language suggests he’s miserable.

If Adams trades Jack when he asked him to, the return would’ve been quite a bit better.
