there's a book on the sabres...teams know who they are and what they do under granato...they're getting caved, it's costing them games and the problem, as pham pointed out post-game, is that donnie meatballs isn't doing anything to counter that....the question is, why?
- Michael Pachla

How much would Sabres fans pay to watch a Pegula version of succession? Instead of the children it will be sports managers/coaches.

Maybe he is and the players just don't get it right away.
- Buff36

i figured this would be a problem...which isn't too bothersome to me...meatballs has got them playing uptempo hockey and he's developing them to play that style...which is good...but, obviously, there's another side that eventually leads to winning hockey and they're far from mastering that...

he's as green as can be behind the bench

I just can’t even begin to figure out how someone watches that game yesterday and thinks Dahlin was a problem

He’s played well lately.

I got on him a few weeks ago. But he’s been fine and contributing almost every game lately

- sbroads24

i asked the question the other day, is he getting beat by speed in his own zone...it was a big problem for him earlier in the season and it seems to me as if he's on his way to correcting that

Yes he is, just like the team needs to learn not to play on there heels at certain parts of the game, he needs to learn to make adjustments quicker. And it doesn't help with adjustments if your goaltender can't make a save to even start those adjustments

yeah, i'm with you but i've also seen a lot of layups that goalies have no chance on...mentioned during the seattle game that it took over a period and a half for him/them to figure out what the kraken was doing..,once they did they flipped the ice...however, it wasn't nearly enough

His decisions, his not using timeouts.
His team constantly giving away games in a 3 minute span
Said whatever he is doing "Is not working" Need to back and listen to that part closely tomorrow to know exactly what it was. Mentioned Thompson and Mitts.

This season is going exactly how it was meant to go.

They're in 26th, the forwards are scoring, they have no goaltending and maybe 2-3 defensive pieces who will be here in 2 years. I'm not sure what PHam expected heading into the year but what's happening now was clearly foreseeable in August.

I just don't get how everyone don't see it. When you sign Tokarski and Anderson to be your starters that right there should tell you that we are not trying to win.

I want to win, but if I have to lose I would rather lose 4-6, 5-7 then 5-1 or 6-0. Even when we are losing it at least is an exciting game to watch.

it's all that was talked about here..."i want to see high exciting losses" was the mantra from many and you're right, it's exactly what we're getting...

i don't believe pham has ever subscribed to the philosophy of losing to win and that's the angle he's coming from

Nah. (frank) this team. (frank) this coach.

Another season over beore mid December. Heck, I suppose I should be grateful it wasnt over in November. Thank god i fell asleep at 3 - 0 and didn't see that puke as it happened.

I am so sick of losing, losers, and the fans of losing. (frank) all of you and your worship of losing.

- lacaprup

Maybe you shouldnt have been pretending this team was different after a 4--1-1 start?

You were very sold on the playoffs after a couple weeks vs poor teams with back up goaltending.....

Seams like the real loser fans knew, and you after a decade of not watching the team, you didnt know ☝️

The winner fan.... 😀

the problem i have is that the players don't want to lose and it grates on them...think of it, every player comes from a background of winning and succeeding at all the levels that got them to the nhl...losing is a foreign concept and it's mentally taxing

That was requested by team Canada for the upcoming Olympics. I agree the Sabres are trying to lose but you can’t hide the eliteness of the Pysyk

Who’s actually putting up decent results.

The defense is the only thing that has put together ok underlying results

The Sabres are scoring but have the worst shot quality of any team in the league and can’t sustain any pressure

The scoring is about to dry up at some point and the games are gonna start to get really, really ugly.

Adams will have an immense amount of pressure to be good next year because the Pegula’s aren’t going to stand for no attendance next year as well.

The alternative was to try flipping picks to acquire players like Dvorak and Kuemper to keep it afloat and play meaningful games in March. They opted to keep the draft capital and build this the "right way"

I also don't think they expected an All time NHL low attendance record.

I seriously think that the Peguals thought that they would fill the arenas still.

If you think the attendance is bad now, wait until the scoring starts to regress to the mean and they are losing 6-1 instead of 6-4

Is there too much inexperience behind the bench? Ellis has not been behind there long. Donnie has but not as a head coach. And I forget the d assistant… is it simply learning on the fly.
