No experience management wise in the nhl. Danny B was brought in to speak French to the Hab elites.

Get me someone from a team that is able to draft and develop. Tampa comes to mind. Mathieu Darche is the director of hockey ops there.

Rob DiMaio. director of player personnel in St. Louis. Another team that makes good moves and can draft and develop.

Kevin Weeks - Seems very smart and connected to NHL. Could he be a forward thinking guy who could build a team?

I don't know. There are plenty of hockey people out there just waiting for a chance.

The Rags had hits because they didn't have the puck. Lack of hits is not the Flyers problem. Lack of goals is their problem.

This I can get behind...but I would also say that there was zero chance Fletch could say it was a tire fire and he was gutting the team...he would lose all leverage. We are only at the 1/4 pole, he still has 20 games before he has to move people and make a pivot...he also has not iced the team he put together due to injuries, but I think the writing is there if you look at what he said...it is not all injuries and he sees that being on the coaches...if the team gets most of the guys back from injury and they are still in trouble, he may pull the trigger, but it too early to publicly say that. If I was fletch, i go all in on talking to Joel Q. He is my number one target if he can come out of the mire form the mess Chicago made...the guy can coach...with a guy like torts you are getting a guy with a short shelf life, so it is another boom or bust situation...not what the Flyers need. i like the idea of bringing Pronger in as the Hockey OPS guy and Q as the coach...

The Flyers can't hire Quenneville. Fletcher basically pissed on the fans and told them it was raining. The idea that he couldn't assess the team until Ellis and Hayes were back is preposterous.

I think Couturier is someone you keep because you have your future captain and his game can continue to assist the team through a rebuild.

Plus you have nothing in the system that does what he does on a nightly basis.

Just my opinion.

- J35Bacher

I would like to agree with you but to be honest I am at a loss as to why Couts has played as bad as he has lately. Last night he didn't even look like he was trying in the latter half of the game I watched.

My preference would be for them to make data a main pillar of their decision making, like the Canes and Leafs do. I also wish they would spend less energy trying to collect all-around hockey players and instead focus on just finding the best, most talented, most skilled ones. Then build around that.

That’s where chuck has differed from hex as well. Hex went after the 200 foot players. Chuck trying to fill exact holes.

I wish we had gone through this exercise when we replaced GMRH but the calculus was much more of a "who is our kind of people?" But we have Cliff now and this is too short of a window to judge in my view. His drafts have not been bad and the FA is a mix but that outcome is generally true everywhere. Get rid of Homer and Scott and let CF make the decisions he thinks are right. If CF does not work out, then go to one of the places you mentioned and find the right guy.

Farabee yes. I would include Hart as he looks to be developing. Forst we will see.

Lindblom was a good pick for the round you got him and for him to be an NHL player.

Provorvo and Konecny were good picks for where they were picking.

But there were also a lot of misses. And again I know it's hindsight but not hitting on Patrick was huge. And I would love Bill to talk about this more because I think he said there were scouts who wanted Maker and Heiskanen over Patrick at the time.

Jay O'Brien
Ratcliff
Adam Ginning
Pascal Lebarge

Those are pretty high picks that have done nothing. Also outside Lindblom, he didn't really find any of those later rounder guys that can come in a contribute.

Again we are doing this in hindsight.

- J35Bacher

Hextall added 10 NHL players through the draft and with undrafted free agency. 3 more possibilities coming. O'Brien hasn't left junior level hockey yet.
The Flyers were simply unlucky with Patrick. Bill has already talked about that before. There was no consensus with the scouts.

Do you think after what went down in Chicago Quenneville is blacklisted from any future coaching jobs?

I get it. But he is the one guy you have nothing in the system to replace. PK, PP, even strength, faceoffs. Size and Skill. If Giroux isn't back next year he is the captain i believe.

While I didn’t expect him to be great. I am surprised he is not adding anything to the p p. And that was the whole reason to sign him. At the time I didn’t think it was terrible. But not impressed with yandle at all.
- Peter Richards

Yeah. I’m surprised as well. Maybe the chemistry just isn’t there or he’s more cooked than we thought. Thing is, I saw the logic in chucks moves this summer… it’s just not panning out so far.

It has been disappointing. I hope it is not a repeat of the Von Hayes syndrome (big contract - stop showing up).

Yes, I think CF recognizes the holes we have in our prospect pool, like you said a lot of 200 foot players but no speed and top end skill. His first draft he had York sitting there so I don't blame for picking him, but the last 2 drafts went with Foerster (was the best shooter in that draft class) and Tuomaala who has blazing speed.

you think Holmgren and Scott are making the hockey decisions? Scott made CF President of Hockey Operations & General Manager. I think it's all CF. He's made a lot of changes since he was hired. So far they seem to have all turned to poop.

Paper vs performance. Yeah.

Just looking yandle put up descent points last year.

I think based off what was said that Jake was ready to move himself. Some of his comments the last couple years.

Ghost was cap move.

Do you consider Frost, Farabee and Konecny 200 foot players? All 3 players are players that were drafted for their skill level.

He is from the Captain comfortable school of leadership. He should have been traded.

Take him out of the lineup and the flyers are still poop. So what are you really losing?

I’m on board with you on that. No more flyer associated people . DiMaio was not here long as a player so I wouldn’t count him.

Saint Ronnie rules. Amazing he answers to Brian Burke who is the real GM there.

JOB has left junior level hockey...Hopefully he goes the free agency route and spurns the flyers.

Did Saint Ronnie get lucky with Hart since he drafted him after Labarge? If it was skill surely he takes Hart first no?

This is stupid.

If someone is qualified they should be hired. Hell maybe the best coach for the team was the one Hextall fired.
