This is really true, Patrick, Laberge, Allison, Laczynski, Frost, now Foerster to name a few. Just really bad luck!

Yup, Wisdom was another player that had a chance to make this team in camp also.

To say Atkinson has not been effective and that we are missing Voracek out there is an absolute joke. You’re funny!!
- anti-lame

ummm....wut?

Cam Atkinson? The guy who had 1 goal and 3 assists for the whole month of November? The guy who has 1 goal in his last 16 games? If that is effective what does a guy have to do to be considered NOT effective in your eyes?

PT can chime in with his breakdown.

Like CC he isn't the problem. He also isn't part of the solution going forward.

Never once said or insinuated he was problem in any way.

You don't think you could slide two skilled wingers next to him and succeed?

lol he had a less than zero chance. To say otherwise is just flat out dreaming.

Forrest also had a less than zero chance.

Or he just thought he could successful doing that. Thought his picks wouldve been better than they turned out also.
- bradster

Ya. It's possible. Arrogant and so on.

But my suspicion stems from what happened before Hexy and what happened after. And all this stuff I hear about him being disrespectful to "franchise royalty". Would this franchise ever really have allowed him to commit to a full rebuild?

We will never know until/unless he writes his memoirs, I guess.

Is it more than league average? I don't really follow injuries to prospects of other teams.

If it is significantly more, than the bad luck theory is less likely than than some system problem theory. For the same reason that Tampa's late drafting success is less likely (though not impossible) to be due to luck alone.

Depends on the moves.

Look at Minnesota. They moved out some contracts and revamped there team and now lead their division.

I don't know if you can attach timelines anymore because I think if you can make the right moves you can compete quickly in the NHL.

He's been a pretty weak defensive player on top of being an offensive non-entity. Disappointing.

Ok so in your opinion everyone on the current team and in the minors sucks. The coach sucks. The GM sucks. Comcast sucks. Is there any glimmer of hope in your about this team?

I have to agree with you, besides being a threat on the PK, 5 on 5 he has been a liability defensively and produced nothing offensively.

I do not think ex selke and Hayes are a good enough combo down the middle to get you to top end contender status.

This team has to many issues. This year is already wasted. Then you have those 2 above and Ellis getting older and possibly diminished returns. I do not see a bright outcome in the next 3 years at a minimum. Then add in a GM who has spotty tracj record to begin with. We shall see.

Not sure the Wild are for real. Like Hartman and Foligno are gonna crash back down to earth sooner or later. And we know all about Cam Talbot's true level too lol.

I think if everything went absolutely perfectly, we'd be 4 years away.. Realistically prob 6 years....minimum. Hayes may still be here lol

How long did it take tampa with having high draft picks turning into stars?

Too many players on this team have been non-entities. It seems they never have any space on the ice in all three zones when they have the puck. Ive been watching closely to try to put my finger on why this is. It just seems like they are a team full of slow decision makers. They catch the puck, and hold it, and are slow to decide what they will do with it next, in the meantime the opposition has time to close on them and disrupt what they are trying to do. This happens especially on the PP.

Its like when they get the puck they are going through this checklist of things in their heads instead of just reacting? Is that the coach in their heads? Is that the player?

Its just crazy how slow and indecisive they are as a TEAM.

He is +9 on a team with mostly -'s, heck you would think only he, Brassard and Bee are playing two way hockey. But yeah, the entire month of November for the entire team was forgettable.

The Rangers didn't sell every veteran either. Think about where the Ranger would be without Panarin and Fox. Panarin only wanted to play in NY. Fox only wanted to play in NY.
- MJL

True Fox only wanted to play in NY but Panarin just wanted to play in a big market. He was up for grabs and Flyers past on any effort to sign him

I disagree on that. I think you can win with them.

I think the questions are more with guys we thought would have more of an impact. Sanheim. What is he? Why do I feel like every game I want more from him. Konecny seems so inconsistent. Like are these guys building block players? Am i missing something? Lindblom. JVR.

I think Laughton is actually fin for his role as a guy who can move around and secondary scoring.

I guess I am just missing something.

It's mostly a support issue.

Guys have nowhere to go with the puck when they get it. Need passing options, teammates fighting to get open, etc. Instead of dudes just standing around, watching their buddies getting swarmed.

I think there's also a part of it where they're doing a lot of thinking instead of just reacting, for whatever reason. Kind of a tell tale sign of no confidence/coach is on them.

Many believe a coaching change is in order. I’ll admit it’s hard to argue. You can question a lot of the entire staff’s decisions and whatever system this is supposed to be. My question is, what has really changed since Vigneault’s first season here. Is the mindless usage of the boards coaching or bad instincts of the players. What’s really on Vigneault and what’s on the players?

Chuck Fletcher is a totally different story. He’s like a dumber Bob Clarke in office.
