I liked what I saw from day one with him. Was charging the net, giving defensemen trouble... results of his hard work and being paired with very talented players is paying off.
- Scabeh

Oh for sure.. .
At the start of the season, I had hoped that Ritchie would be Hyman's replacement on that top line.. Turns out the even cheaper winger is a better fit..

Doesn't hurt when you get to play with Matthews/Marner or Tavares/Nylander

Yes, a separate post, nothing to do with the oilers.
I said it "could" have had an impact, even though his season has been up and down.
Again, it wasnt a negative post.
Oh and i wasnt the only one that posted about the goalie either.

But ok.

It was a fun game.

My point was that I care about you ....I was concerned why my HB friend would wake up this morning ...jump onto HB and instinctively write

"Had the avs had their starter it may have been much closer or a different outcome".

I was just trying to tell you that some blue in your morning coffee will help you turn the glass look half full .....8-3 ....15-2.

I just wanna make sure you're enjoying this ride with us!

If I don't hear a little more irrational optimism out of you I'm going to ask that your Pic be changed to Eeyore.

Well considering how another goaltender I consider average (Grubauer) performed in the same setting, it was easy to see Kuemper as a high fantasy value pick.

I'm not exactly sure why results have been underwhelming but he needs to be better if Colorado wants to compete for the cup, they have everything else needed to do so.

- Scabeh

Which begs the question; Was Kuemper good, because Arizona was really bad?

3 of the 4 bottom teams in the NHL being Ottawa, Montreal, and NYI, makes me happy. Montreal and Ottawa for obvious reasons, but NYI - after all the chirping on how great Lou is, and how they're better off without Tavares, it's sort of funny that they look likely to miss the playofs (already a pretty big uphill battle).

Saw some real chemistry between JT and Willie last night. Willie needs to find the jump consistently and JT is playing some of his best hockey. Gellin'

Not to take anything away from this incredible run so far

Dubas and Keefe inherited some pretty darned good players, the likes of which the Leafs have never seen before. To their credit, they have risen to some very lofty expectations so far, barring the thing we shall not speak of last may

well, in fairness, pretty short sample sizes, taking over a team that was already stacked with great players. And the Leafs are not really first by pts %.

But yeah, things looking good with the Leafs right now. winning 15 of 17 games, is like, pretty impressive. I just hope they can do the same in May and June.

As a Leafs fan….I’ve been scarred too many times 😔

As a manager…..I’ve seen that every time I give positive reinforcement to my employees, there is a drop in productivity

Hence my earlier comments about:
Complacency breeds failure
Steady on the rudder
Stay grounded

Do you mean when the Habs defeated the Leafs 4 games to 3 in the first round?

Just wanted to make sure.

As a manager I found short, unexpected electric shocks did wonders for productivity. Maybe you’re doing the positive reinforcement thing wrong.

Bunting = Hyman..
Glad, the one we have is not being paid $5.5M per season.

- PatC80

I was all set to argue this. I still think Hyman is a more versatile player and more reliable - more confident with the puck and more aware of his role in any given situation. He is also 29 and has played 366 career NHL games; Bunting is 26 and has 50 NHL games under his belt. I think he has room to grow. Curiously they are both late bloomers (Hyman didn't consistently play in the NHL until he was 24; Bunting when he was 25).

This year, as noted - they are both playing with excellent players. In just their 5v5 play, Bunting is averaging just under 13 minutes / game, and Hyman is around 13.5 minutes. They are both positive in Shots For, Goals For and Expected Goals for, with Bunting having an edge in all of those categories (more notably in xG, where it's 61% to 57%). Hyman's largest advantage is in High Danger Goals; while Bunting's lines are generating about the same chances for, they are allowing fewer HD Chances against - but Hyman's line is allowing fewer HD Goals.

Bunting is even outproducing Hyman at 5v5 (15pts to 10).
