Scott Gorton 😂😂
Just when you think Eks writing couldn't be more "amateurish" he delivers this gem. |

I suggested that on the Habs thread. Hire a French female player. Oulette, Rheaume or someone like that as a PR person to handle all press and learn the ropes. - TurdFergeson Good idea! That way Rheaume will exit the Detroit broadcast!

The habs have been mediocre since'94. They are home. |

Scott Gorton....is that Jeff's brother?? - Komisaurus Rex

Are you (frank)ing nuts? Daniel Brière is the same bumhole who didn't want to play in MTL while in his prime... Good luck to this little poop to convince free agents to sign with the Habs! Screw Brière tabarnak! |

It's not Scott Gorton or Jeff Gorton, his name is now Jean-Francois Gorgoton |

Scott Gordon jokes aside, why would Briere be the best candidate?
Mathieu Darche has done pretty well in Tampa.
Martin Madden runs the Ducks scouting and was nearly hired by Seattle for GM. He's looking for a promotion. Yeah he also speaks French and lives in Quebec.
If you insist on former players, Roy is obvious, but look at the assistant GM in Florida. His name is Roberto Luongo. Speaks French. Having success at the NHL level.
But Briere is tops I guess... |

Thought the new GM needed to be bilingual - wouldn't Roy need to learn English? |

Habs still trolling for third rate candidates because they speak French. It’s no wonder this franchise is going nowhere |

Why would any of these people who are only candidates because they are French Canadian leave their current position to join the daily grind of managing in Montreal? |

I hope if Madden Jr. doesn't get the GM position that they still bring him on in some capacity to head the drafting and scouting duties |

Maybe being a GM is more exciting or rewarding than being an assistant or overseeing scouting? Just a wild guess.
Also, the chance to work with Scott Gordon. |

All candidates being mentioned here are pure conjecture. If you have ever hired someone you know the interview process is what matters. Whoever Gorton hires will be the person who's ideas most closely align with his own. I don't believe anyone who is familiar with Gortons resume with the Bruins and Rangers can dispute he is an experienced hockey man. Montreal is a distinctive market due to language. Seems like a smart move to have someone who is exceptional at dealing with the press to give Gorton more time to to his actual job. It's almost surprising more teams don't try to run a little cover for their GM if dealing with the press isn't their strong suit, or if they just would rather not do it. If it works in Montreal I can see it starting a trend |

Your title makes absolutely ZERO sense.
Bring the Canadiens back home? They literally play half their games in Montreal just like the rest of the 31 franchises 🙄 |

Lol don’t be a kissa$$. Gorton will hire someone who speaks French. That’s just a foregone conclusion.
He was interim GM of Boston too until they made someone else GM.
All these Montreal fans are saying oh wow we got this big hockey mind… Have you seen his first rounders struggle in the NHL? Lafreniere? Kaako? Anderson? Kravstov? Lundkvist? |
