I would agree that Jake is better on the PP even though Atkinson had more pts last year. However, the guy had 4 shorties last yr. 4. He is good on the kill and our pk was an absolute disgrace. This year it’s better. Still not perfect, but better.

Overall the players are prob equal w diff salary structures. That deal is not the reason why we are a 500 team right now.

It sure would be nice to have Jake’s current PP production considering the dreck we are running out there right now…. He sure was good in the regular season.

- Joe Nardone

The PK is really not that good. The percentage is where it is because of goaltending. With the amount of chances and high danger chances they give up. They are at the bottom of the league. If the goaltending slides, so will that number.
Losing Voracek and the qualities that he brings to the ice is a huge reason why the team is struggling to create offense. The GM did not replace that. He brought in the wrong kind of defenseman in Ristolainen and did not replace it forward wise. Ellis, if he can stay in the lineup helps but he isn't going to solve everything.

They've dropped from 14th-overall in expected Goals differential to 30th in the league. Scoring chance differential dropped from 13th to 32nd. High danger scoring chance differential dropped from 19th to 32nd.

The numbers on the PK (which CF claims is now so much better) show a similar decline.

They gone from a team that was meh in most areas but could be a mess in dzone coverage.... to a team that does almost nothing right at all.

It's (frank)ing embarrassing that CF calls a presser to put lipstick on the situation while simultaneously trotting out the predictable injury and hard schedule excuses. The coaches somehow remain beyond reproach. He admits they're absolutely helpless now at entries but makes no mention that might be b/c he traded the team's best entry guy away.

The GM was completely out of touch with that presser. My hope is that he is really looking within and realizing the mistakes he has made.

Florida without their best player comes back and scores 4 goals in the 3rd period to beat the Caps! They outshot the Caps 51-27(they outshot the Caps by a whopping 26-2 margin in the 3rd period)! Why can't we have nice things? Such a dynamic and exciting team in a market that doesn't give a shyte about hockey. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair.

Don't worry, our first round pick from this year will be ready for next season...oh, wait

I'm not absolving the moves Fletcher made, but he wouldn't be making those said moves if ownership didn't push the envelope and make them a cap team.

Very true. Dave Scott, hockey wise, is not very bright.

He admitted as much when he took over. I remember like it was yesterday when he said he basically knew nothing about hockey.

I still pop onto you tube and watch him. It both amazes and saddens me. I love the Red Barchetta performance when they were older

Yeah, hard to believe he is gone. When I was reminded of Rush last night I went on u tube and watched the Jacob's Ladder video. Some of his best drum work was on the obscure songs. We tried to mimic him back in the day when we dabbled on the drums, but good luck with that.

I do not have an issue spending up to the cap. They have the money and I want them to invest it in the team. I do have an issue with giving long term deals to players that do not warrant long term deals.

I think the Flyers have signed a few young players that need to live up to there deals.

Provy, TK, Farabee, etc. need to show me they are worth what they are getting paid.

Meh. That's like being the best drywaller on This Old House.

And anyway, I'd put others above him. Ginger Baker, Bonzo, Keith Moon (maybe a few more). Peart was absolutely technically outstanding, but perhaps not quite dynamic as these guys. Though he's maybe in the top 5... definitely in the top 10. However, I admire him much more as a lyricist. And I really liked him as a motorcyclist, and his writings on his travels and experiences in that realm of his life.

I see it the other way around. When you're a team that is capped out and is not a good team, you're in big trouble. So if you look at it from a perspective of making changes. Which players can you move with value? The players you listed? Or aging and declining players with term on higher cap hit deals such as Hayes, Atkinson and Ellis?

Again reiterating that I'm not a musician or an expert in any way on music, so excuse me if I use the wrong terms or descriptions. I like drummers that play with extensive drum fills such as Moon, Peart, Bonham and Baker. Versus a drummer who just keeps exquisite time and beat such as Charlie Watts or Steve Ferrone.

It's cool with the lightning they show in the video. Kind of goes with the off base songs. So many off beats in that song. Used to drive us crazy trying to figure out what he was doing.
