I finally had a chance to read the entire transcript. Am I misunderstanding or did he essentially say the power play is bad because we don’t have good players? Got to say, I agree with his assessment there.

According to cf, they have not had good players since the 13-14 season when the PP ranked 8th and was at 19.73%

In contrast, the 14-15 squad was third in the league at 23.44%

This guy is a clown and has a job only cause of his name and connections to #16

One of the most disturbing trends I see is a comparison being made to last season. Last season was epically poor in terms of defensive structure and play. Historically awful. So why are the GM, media, analysts and fans using that as a measuring stick. I keep hearing that they had improved defensive play in the first 10 games. Yet when you look at the data and compare it to the rest of the league. They were at the bottom of the league in many metrics. Their GAA was good because of fantastic goaltending. Using last year as the measuring stick is beyond absurd. Forget about that. That's the lowest of low hanging fruit. When I read the GM doing that. It's extremely concerning. He's not measuring his team appropriately.

I don't. Not completely. Although he traded away a player who is 5th in the league in PP points in Voracek.

Thank you. Many still do not realize the gravity of the situation Fletcher and management have put this franchise in.

All that wheeling and dealing, trading picks, capping out the team to slightly improve from last year’s epically bad team? Lol!

Im not reading that transcript or did i listen. But i can guarantee its all GM speak. Dont pay any attention to what he says. GMs dont call people out, players or coaches. Might hear something like , we gotta play better. Its just PR because he knows its getting hot in here

were fine cap wise, not sure why people keep saying that. Lots of contracts expiring this year. And they will trade or buyout jake, and start the spending again. Id rather go for an RFA. Maybe thats why jersey just signed hughes, dont even let them get close to RFA

It goes so far beyond just the injuries to Ellis and Hayes. The GM made some very bad blunders. He thinks this is just about not having the full team together. Mark my words. There will be some improvement somewhere down the line during the season and the narrative will be if only they didn't have those injuries. The Flyers will be awarded another moral victory cup.

I personally can deal without the PR. Which is basically what it was. I didn't expect him to tell the truth, which is that management screwed up.

Covid has, and will be everywhere for the rest of our lifetimes. Do not fall into the box of fear that lets others control you
- corduroy

Good advice. In Florida we learned to live with Covid instead of living in fear. Each chooses their own level of protection. Florida has had no mask mandates or lockdowns for 18 months. Yesterday they reported the lowest rate per capita of new cases than any other state...(notice you don’t hear any of this from the media). Freedom is a wonderful thing.

Florida without their best player comes back and scores 4 goals in the 3rd period to beat the Caps! They outshot the Caps 51-27(they outshot the Caps by a whopping 26-2 margin in the 3rd period)! Why can't we have nice things? Such a dynamic and exciting team in a market that doesn't give a shyte about hockey. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair.

I would agree that Jake is better on the PP even though Atkinson had more pts last year. However, the guy had 4 shorties last yr. 4. He is good on the kill and our pk was an absolute disgrace. This year it’s better. Still not perfect, but better.

Overall the players are prob equal w diff salary structures. That deal is not the reason why we are a 500 team right now.

It sure would be nice to have Jake’s current PP production considering the dreck we are running out there right now…. He sure was good in the regular season.

They've dropped from 14th-overall in expected Goals differential to 30th in the league. Scoring chance differential dropped from 13th to 32nd. High danger scoring chance differential dropped from 19th to 32nd.

The numbers on the PK (which CF claims is now so much better) show a similar decline.

They gone from a team that was meh in most areas but could be a mess in dzone coverage.... to a team that does almost nothing right at all.

It's (frank)ing embarrassing that CF calls a presser to put lipstick on the situation while simultaneously trotting out the predictable injury and hard schedule excuses. The coaches somehow remain beyond reproach. He admits they're absolutely helpless now at entries but makes no mention that might be b/c he traded the team's best entry guy away.

My issue with the team is with the guy holding the press conference. I mean, I don’t know what AV is suppose to do with this Mishmash of players.

I agree with anyone who thought Jake Voracek’s time here was getting old but he was for the most part an extremely threatening offensive player and Cam Atkinson alone wasn’t going to improve the PK and scoring production. Hints the difference in money. Jake Voracek is a first line player and we should have replaced him with one.

Ryan Ellis has always been an injury prone player. Ellis wasn’t going to replace Matt Niskanen because Niskanen was replicable. If I’m trading youth that isn’t working out, I’m trading for other youths that just might need a new home. Kevin Hayes has never shown signs of being worth 7.14 million dollars a year but we had to have him. Hayes will never reach the expectation Fletcher has placed on him and this is the real deal that may have set the Flyers back. I’m willing to admit that I wanted Ristolainen but at the expense of a first round pick? No thank you! There is a reason why nobody is thrilled with watching Seeler, Bunnaman or Willman play. Nobody has heard of them and they’re not any good.

The Flyers aren’t talented. The Phantoms aren’t talented. This is on Chuck Fletcher. It’s pretty clear he’s not looking into the resume/history of the players he’s blowing assets for.

There is not one player on this team that is in the “elite” category. Not one. Hasn’t been for years. It matters.

After hashing it over I think I really figured out the gist of this presser. CF basically is admitting that he knows they totally suck, but he has no idea how to fix things, so we are stuck with this mess. Took me awhile to read through all the BS, but I think I got it now. Almost forgot my prediction for tonight's game. It was originally 6-1, but I think that presser may get their attention for one game, so I'm changing it to 5-2 Rags.

Exactly. Damage control to the tee.
