Chiarot

Not convinced they will trade Leks.

- Mashadar

Chiarot might not be first, but he's the most likely to get traded by the deadline.

Chiarot is going for sure but they'll wait closer to the deadline I think, pure rental type deal... I see them making a couple hockey trades before the deadline comes around

Heard Briere's name come up quite a bit.... Vinny Damphouse already shot that sh!t down, he wants nothing to do with it
- OB

Again, I suspect they want nothing to do with him, and this is the reaction of someone that knows it.

Grab a 2nd rounder for him and I'll be happy

Yeah and he's been out of the biz for a while, seems like a smart guy im sure he could do a decent job but if he's happy where he's at good for him.

Brière is managing and ECHL team now, NHL would be a pretty big punch up but he also seems like a good guy. I could see him with as an assistant GM first to a more experienced guy to groom him.

About being happy or getting a 2nd?

I imagine he gets more than a 2nd and I'd imagine Habs fans won't be happy (hopeful, sure, happy? Eh...) for a stretch.

Plus none of us here are ever happy. That's why we're here. To spread our misery around in the most annoying ways possible

So teamed up with Gorton? Could work I suppose!

Can't stand Brière ever since the day he used the Habs to raise the price as a UFA only to sign in Philly even if Montreal had the better offer.

Then decided it was "a great honor" to come back when he was pretty much done as a player.

And now he'd want to run the team?

(frank) him.

So people are like "let's hire a woman, just because she's a woman, despite no NHL experience, not wanting to do so is just sexist."

While others are like "you can't hire Briere. Sure he played for years and has management experience in a pro hockey organization but we need more experience."

Curious which one is it?

Would be nice if they did something more progressive than they "former NHL player with little to no experience as GM" route, yet again.

With Gorton in place, they have the luxury to try to be different.

It'd be nice if they just hired the best candidate without all the agendas, trying to be progressive, different, etc. Hiring different, just for the sake of hiring different isn't a smart plan, it's just more PR BS

i'm planning for a series of nice snow storms that bring 4 inches each so it looks nice but doesn't cripple traffic. unfortunately, we'll either get no snow at all or 3 storms that drop a foot and a half each.

I suspect part of the equation is that women who have been involved with running the National team have the same level, and perhaps even more experience, as some of the candidates mentioned (ie: Darche, Briere).

Whether any of those candidates are good enough for Habs GM (including Darche or Briere/, is all up for debate.

Most likely, I have the luxury of a real easy commute to work but people just lose their minds driving in snow, makes it a pain for everyone else

So no men's pro hockey experience? Question, real one, would these female candidates and their resumes be given the same opportunity if they had a penis? Honest question from somebody who employs women two to one over men but because they were the best candidates and only that reason

i also have a very short commute. i like when they let us leave early for a real bad storm and i'm home drinking bourbon in 15 minutes while all my coworkers are struggling to get home for hours.
