Well on their way to a guaranteed top 3, they're not climbing that far back up - OB
they gave up nearly 100 shots in these last 2 games. i think their draft position will be just fine.

That is the best part indeed.... we actually have the punch clock set 5 minutes fast so we can avoid all other factories punching out at 3, it's great!

On your odd non sequitur, if they didn't have Richards but were able to carve out long and productive men's pro hockey careers? I'd imagine that'd take some next level hockey IQ.
On the actual point of my comment, beyond their careers in mens pro hockey both Darche and Briere have experience working in management of a pro hockey team, something most female options discussed lack - Takemedrunkimhome
I am not even arguing for the Habs GM to be female.
I am arguing for something better than just "I got a Richard, I played hockey, I speak French" candidate (yet again), solely.because they meet
all 3 of those old school hockey mentality checkboxes the Habs have used forever.
And if they are going to hire someone with minimal hockey experience (which looks like the direction they are going, anyways), the lack of having a Richard no longer becomes a barrier. |

Well he's finally playing like he was in Laval, full of confidence.
Now let's do the same with Caufield, send him down.

So people are like "let's hire a woman, just because she's a woman, despite no NHL experience, not wanting to do so is just sexist."
While others are like "you can't hire Briere. Sure he played for years and has management experience in a pro hockey organization but we need more experience."
Curious which one is it? - Takemedrunkimhome

they played their first 13 or 14 games on the road, waiting for their new arena to be ready. then they got injured quite a bit. they'll be fine, maybe too late though. |

While I don't care much if they played (although I won't pretend playing doesn't provide value and insight) my point is about management in men's pro hockey.
If they are hiring somebody with minimal experience because the speak french, it's just more of the same. If they hire a woman with no experience it screams a PR move over Mailloux - see, we really care, honest.
The NFL has a lot of teams with female coaches and it's been very positive - but they started at the bottom and worked their way up with experience, not being handed the keys to the castle with no experience. Pretty sure a few NBA teams have a female coach on staff too.
So again, if people are going to female dog about Briere and his lack of experience they need to be honest and say under that same approach every female candidate also needs to be passed on...or admit the truth of it all that being politically correct in 2021 forces us to pretend isn't there |
