Hire Hayley Wickenheiser. - AdamFrench

It'd be nice if they just hired the best candidate without all the agendas, trying to be progressive, different, etc. Hiring different, just for the sake of hiring different isn't a smart plan, it's just more PR BS - Takemedrunkimhome
If there was a clear best candidate, that also wanted to come to Montreal, then I don't think this becomes an issue.
But there has not been one come to the forefront, and in the absence of the Habs saying they are looking for X-skillset (beyond billingual), it is fair to speculate across the spectrum. |

I'm not in favour of Briere by any stretch but my point is if the argument against him is a lack of managing a men's pro hockey team then you need to eliminate pretty much every female candidate or admit the truth of the whole process |

i also have a very short commute. i like when they let us leave early for a real bad storm and i'm home drinking bourbon in 15 minutes while all my coworkers are struggling to get home for hours. - kicksave856
That is the best part indeed.... we actually have the punch clock set 5 minutes fast so we can avoid all other factories punching out at 3, it's great!
Haven't had Bourbon in awhile, mostly sticking with Vodka and Gin the last year or so |

Let them sink...two strong drafts coming up, not a bad timing to get top 5 picks and do a quick rebuilt. |

So no men's pro hockey experience? Question, real one, would these female candidates and their resumes be given the same opportunity if they had a penis? Honest question from somebody who employs women two to one over men but because they were the best candidates and only that reason - Takemedrunkimhome
Well, I don't think Darche and Briere are that great of candidates. And if you are basically going to train that person on the job now, then at least look at all candidates of somewhat equal experience.
Also, if Darche and Briere didn't have Richards, would they even be considered? |

Well, nice to see you believe managing the women's National team has zero value.
But managing a no pressure ECHL team does
But whatever. |

On your odd non sequitur, if they didn't have Richards but were able to carve out long and productive men's pro hockey careers? I'd imagine that'd take some next level hockey IQ.
On the actual point of my comment, beyond their careers in mens pro hockey both Darche and Briere have experience working in management of a pro hockey team, something most female options discussed lack |

Zero value no. Minimal value? Yes.
Men vs women.
Pro vs amateur.
Contracts. Drafting. Free agency. All pretty important things you'll never experience in managing the women's national team |
