I hope Hexy brings him to Pittsburgh and he scores the Cup-winning goal on a feed from Sid just so all the heads on Flyersbuzz will explode.

And then spend the day with the cup in Philly. |

At least the LHV team is in good hands playing solid hockey. I believe they are first overall in the AHL. |

Haha to be honest this team has made me numb to hockey. I turned the game off last night and couldn’t care less. Pathetic organization - ClaudeFather
I stopped watching a week ago. You could see this coming from around game 9 or 10. I honestly am not mad at all, I just no longer care.

Bill, I agree with pretty much all you said with the exception of this statement. "Noticeably, the much-improved defensive structure the team showed early on -- which was hardly mentioned and erroneously chalked up by some entirely to the goaltending". With all disrespect, it can't be said about a team that was bleeding scoring chances all season and among the bottom in SCA rate. Now some of this can certainly be blamed on the Flyers lack of ability overall as a team to being able to drive play and have extended attack time. After all, the more time you spend in your own end, the more chances you will give up. Defending in the NHL does not have the same definition as it used to have. If you're bleeding chances, you simply are not defending well. Same on the PK. At the bottom of the league in suppressing high danger chances. The PK percentage is all about the goaltending. Same at 5 on 5. What we're seeing now was all but inevitable. It was predictable. Adding Ellis would help some but not likely to have a significant effect if the rest of the team doesn't get it's act together. - MJL

Don't you think disaster is the precondition of contention? If they produce as expected, they would have been ...a 2nd round team in playoffs.
What good would that have done? |

I cleaned my cats boxes and did dishes instead (the old fashioned way) rather than watch that crap...BTW your Holmgren comment made me wonder if he was still mean enough to scare the current generation of player..Him and Pronger...just to be a fly on the wall of them burning the paint off the wall and some sensitive ears of the guys currently here. |

Enough about the damn pass, from me anyway.
Re Risto: every single analytic I used against him in Buffalo is going for him today. I was wrong about him so far.
- PT21
Going for him today? Numbers filtered for defenseman who have played 100 minutes at 5 on 5. Rankings among defenseman /60
CF% 48.42% 136th in the league
GF% 46.15% 131st in the league
xGF% 47.55% 142nd in the league
SCF% 43.63% 183rd in the league
HDSCF% 42.55% 181st in the league |

GOD they need to bite the bullet & trade Giroux and Couturier. It's OVER.
They half assed the last rebuild by wanting to be 'competitive'.....wtf does that mean?
All semantics aside competitive means contending for a CHAMPIONSHIP, not making the playoffs and selling a few more tickets.
We are going nowhere and there is zero hope. None for at least 3 freaking years. |

You bring up Ristolainen and then other respond and then you say you can't stand it. What you really can't stand is that you know how wrong you've been about the player. - MJL
Ahhh. Now we see the agenda. It’s about being right about player analysis as opposed to actually just watching a player and objectively providing an opinion. You don’t like trades. We get it. You don’t like the Ellis n Risto trades cause you wanted Myers to be here forever. We get it. You did not like Brassard cause you wanted Frost to be here from day one. We get it. Thompson was going to take Frosts job. We get it. You want rebuild and do so for the next 12 years. We get it.
Can’t ya just watch a game and then say this guy sucked or this guy was great and be done with it? What’s with this agenda to prove yourself right on a hockey trade which may by the way may take years to materialize?
Wouldn’t you rather be wrong about a trade and see your team win then be right and watch them lose?

No one is going to take Couts at that term and doesnt he have a NTC ( not sure) and Giroux will be traded at deadline if he waives his NTC. Should bring a late 1st round pick |

Did they fire av yet?
I’ll pick Torts up at the airport. I’ll board his dogs till he finds a place. Whatever it takes. |

Giroux to the Rangers at the trade deadline makes ton of sense. They will be looking for some center depth and a premier face off guy for their playoff run and Giroux wouldnt have to move. Could play 12 minutes or so at center for them. ...maybe can get their 1st and possibly Kravtsov though not sure they would give up both. |

id rather a good prospect, like a krebs, someone drafted a couple years ago so we dont have to wait 5 years to find out they are mediocre

No Joe, you clearly don't get it. You clearly have no idea what my agenda is. I don't actually have one. |
