Yeah managing an ECHL team vs assistant GM of an NHL team is basically the same except the big egos right? I feel like Brière is 3-5 years away from being a legit candidate to a GM seat in the NHL. I want Madden Jr and Darche tbh. Darche has all the tools and Madden is a draft specialist, kinda what this team has been missing for a while now...

This kind of makes me laugh. There is no such thing. Even the guys that are seen as being the best drafters have had a ton of huge misses. Because they are kids and it’s not an exact science. GM’s need to be communicators first and foremost. They need to make the plan and direction then put the team and staff around them to make it happen. Thinking one guy to coming in and fix everything is delusional. Yet that is how nhl owners try to do it.

The reason Roy was no longer a part of the AVs organization is that Roy wanted more input and decision power in the team's players and direction.

When he did not get that, he pouted all the way back to the Q. And there is likely a reason he still is there, not already in the NHL.

I cannot see any scenario where Roy does not want to have 100% control, which will never happen while Gorton is there.
