I like you peg'sville. Fellow Italian. šŸ‘Š

How can you really argue about dan marino when you didnt see him play?

With other posters who watched much of his career.

Winning championships makes you the best qb ever.
Aside from having every meaningful statistical record clinched.

Some teams have won with good defense, good coaching, good running systems and an average qb.

It happens. It's happened. It's less likely to happen vs. Winning with elite qb play

- Boss34

I mean weā€™ve all watched the brilliance of Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning bringing terrible defences to the playoffs year in and year out.

Peyton Manning is the only QB ever to win a SB with a bottom 10 scoring defence.

I think they both played the QB position better than Tom.

You disagree, it is what it is.

I'd take E Kane

the bears d was unreal but the team they played, the pats had brutal qb play (pats thumped marino in afc title game)

marino was on top of his game, yet lost to montana in his only super bowl by a lot

marino couldn't beat kelly in the playoffs

and lost his last game to the jags 62-7

he was a really good qb in a passing era, but not the best of all time

- homiedclown

Marino definitely thru a nice pretty ball.
He was a great qb.

How can you be the best without winning at least 1 superbowl?

The object is to win championships. Pretty simple

How many SBā€™s would Tom have won if he played his entire career in Green Bay ?

How many would Rodgers have if he played his entire career in New England ?

You have not watched dan marino enough to form an opinion.

You disagree, with 0 knowledge on the topic.

No one knows the answers to any of these questions. However.

In the past 20 years ONE QB has been in HALF of all the Super Bowls, and since you say he's only elite half the time, that must be why he hasn't been in ALL of them.

Thank you and good night.

The issue with not calling Brady the goat is completely ignoring longevity

Someone broke down his career by 3 7 year increments and heā€™s basically has put together 3 HOF worthy careers

I appreciate this point of view.

But, just because eichel didn't work out, doesn't mean the next 1C isnt going lead us to the promise land.

It's hard to win without a #1C. I'm sure peg'sville will disagree.

1C's need to run the ball and stop the run. Not pass ā˜ļø

- Boss34

Sup Boss. I hear ya man. Hockey is hard to judge. Luck plays and get a hot goalie at the right time and you can be champion.

I just really dont want to be in the record books for sucking really bad. I would trade getting our suppose 1C for a playoff birth this year. Easy decision for me

Tbh I used to side with Pegulaville on Brady not being the goat

But you have to consider how long heā€™s been doing it and doing it at an elite level

How am I wrong for saying that Tom Brady is only better than Rodgers because he was handed top 10 if not top 5 defences year after year, when Rodgers has been handed a top 10 defence like once or twice ?

How many of those Tom Brady playoff games does he lose if it werenā€™t for Bill Bā€™s defences or even having the best kicker of all time in Adam Vinateri ?

How many times did Rodgers get bailed out in the playoffs ? I can tell you how many times he posted 120+ better QBR and still lost cause his team stunk.

Peyton Manning goes 13-3, gets hurt and then Jim Caldwell gets fired after going 2-14.

How many times did Peyton carry John Foxā€™s jockstrap year after year.

Yet Tom Brady goes from Bill B to Bruce Arians and one elite defence to another.

Good to see you Ziggy šŸ¤

I'd take playoffs over losing on purpose

Losing on purpose and picking top 5 over picking 10th.

What's another year at the bottom....

ā€œ55 #SuperBowl Champions
#NFLĀ  Ranking in Points Surrendered

ā€¢ 47 of 55 = Top-8 (85.5%)
ā€¢ 51 of 55 = Top-13 (92.7%)

Only 2 teams in 55 years won 12+ regular season games + šŸ’ ranked 20th or worse.ā€

Thatā€™s why the say defences wins championships, and thatā€™s why the 3rd or 4th best QB of all time is considered ā€œThe Goatā€

Anyone who tries to even argue that he isn't at this point is just as much of a fool as someone who tries to argue Jimi isn't the greatest guitar player ever.

Sure, you can argue it, but you're going to look like a moron pretty much the entire time.

Because it has nothing to do with the indivisual person's success, no matter how much you try to spin it.

Take away all of Brady's Super Bowl wins, hell take away all of his appearances, he is still arguably a top-5 QB of all-time. Now add in that he's played for 22 GOD DAMN years in a sport where the average career is 3.3 YEARS and during that time he's played in half off all possible NFL Championship games and the fact you even try to argue against it is bad enough.

But then you keep saying things like Aaron Rodgers and Joe Flacco and Peyton Manning... None of them have ANYTHING to do with Tom Brady... But Tom Brady has A LOT to do with them not having more Super Bowl appearances or wins.

Tom Brady won countless playoff games scoring sub 24 points. He won a SB scoring 13 points

Rodgers has better numbers than Brady in the playoffs, but if he doesnā€™t score 30+ he loses. Even when he scores 30+ he still could lose.

When you actually critically look at each season and each performance the argument actually makes sense.

Or you can just look at the number of rings and forget the amount of times that Brady was carried by a defence in those playoff wins and say it was ā€œall due to Bradyā€
