Weird dude as far as offensive philosophy goes. All over the place. Eagles have been a great screen pass team since Westbrook. How many did he run today?

In his defense, he is also really young and inexperienced.

I thought he turned a corner going back to Denver but got back to his old self today. I agree about the young and inexperienced part. I'll give him time but he is really underwhelming me.

the kid has a huge heart and definitely doesnt get rattled. i ultimately do not think he is "the guy", but you are right in that is far from an established certainty at this point. im mainly going off of extensively following his college stuff.

i just want the chance to evaluate him with an ideal environment/scenario, which is not taking shape.

Agree with everything you say. Hurts will always be a deficient passer. But teams have won the supe with fairly average qbs, who "manage" the team and game plan around him. Starting from Mark Rypien, Joe Flacco, several others.

I am just praying they dont blow the picks on some aging qb. I hope they keep them and use them for D picks.

Wild's Hartman and a ex flyer. Has better stats than flyers secondary "superstars" JVR, Konecny and Laughton 😃 combined!!!!! Just sums up flyers horrible quality of depth 😠

I was a fan, he didn’t seem to fit here though. Seems to be a common theme, players not fitting. Atkinson can’t seem to find a home. Center depth is putrid which adds to it. Let’s also not pretend he was extremely mediocre with a few clubs prior outside 1 season with Chicago.

there is no lawrence/burrow type prospect but there will be some intriguing qb prospects that will certainly be available to them.

its why i think this year should be more about evaluating hurts than finishing with 7 wins instead of 5 or 6.

yeah. i dont see that it factor either, but most of his throws are either short screens or he has to drill into nonexistent windows because theres never any separation.

i cannot get over reagor

- stayinthefnnet

Reagor is awful….I’m sure the kid has a ton of talent…it just doesn’t show up…his return game is just painful to watch. It would be awesome if Hurts could put it together, because the draft capital could be used somewhere else instead of trying to acquire the sex offender or a 30 something guy.

NAK 3 points in 6 games with the avs. Good thing the flyers kept no future nate and brown. Who needs a cheap productive 4th line player you drafted.

Mark Jankowski > Nate.

X amount of years later and where is all this depth Cliff talks about?

If you remember the discussion when Jefferson and Reagor were both available, there were some concerns that Jefferson would be more of a slot receiver in the NFL, and they needed an outside threat. They rolled the die on a unpolished, raw talent with speed. It was a gamble. I am not familiar enough with College ball to offer an educated opinion on whether it was justifiable.

Based on what I see now though, they really didn't do their due diligence, or did it really badly. Reagor has honestly only one thing going for him now: the position he was drafted in.

Which is a pity, because this kid Watkins is fast and competitive and has good hands. He is a bad route runner but he is way better than Reagor. If those throws go to him, he makes one of them for sure.

People pretending Hextall did a good job makes me laugh. The Brown pickup this year is extremely puzzling

I wish Ron Hextall were still Flyers GM. My only real issue with Hextall is he put too much into the system and not enough product on the ice.

RJ Umberger, Nick Schultz, Michael Del Zotto, Chris Vandevalde. All coached by Dave Hakstol. Like these were real hard rosters to watch. I mean really hard.

I think the current roster is just as hard to watch, at least with those rosters you knew what you were getting; with this current team, the box of chocolates that hits the ice maybe Godiva or dog food; and sometimes both in the same game

I grew up watching Lindros. This team hasn't been competitive for around a decade now. This team is so hard to watch

Insert any name picked 12 before and 12 after in that draft and you can say the same thing

I made my post about him weeks back, he was extremely mediocre. Hart is great obviously, Provy was a loaded top 10, TK and Sanheim are nice picks but it’s a ton of nothing, the center depth essentially went extinct which is horrible and killing this team. He didn’t do a good job, he was average, at best.

No team hits on every 1st round pick. Go ahead and do some research. Look at that 2016 draft and how crappy it was. What else you got?

You're not doing yourself any favors here. If Hextall had made a pick in the same draft as Provorov was taken that didn't work out, would you have criticized him for it? Of course you would so it's fair to give credit for the quality pick. You also don't do yourself any favors when in a previous post, you single out the Rubtsov pick, but don't look at the quality of the draft as a factor. Can't pick what's not there. There were a couple of players taken later that turned out any good.

In Hextall's time, he drafted a potential franchise goalie. A top pairing defenseman. A 2nd pairing defenseman. 2 top 6 caliber NHL forwards. 4 other NHL players with the potential for 3 more. Also signed an undrafted UFA that they developed into an NHL player that they used to trade for Ellis. That's 10 NHL players added with the potential for 3 more still in 4 1/2 years as GM.
