Watch the replay, and look at what Risto did just before he made that pass. Its called watching the game versus watching the metrics!
- jd250

You couldn't make a weaker response. Due to my knowledge of the game, I actually know what being rushed looks like. He wasn't. By NHL standards, he had plenty of time. Stop making excuses for the player.

As long as CF is still in charge (and Risto is willing) an extension is a foregone conclusion.
- Tomahawk

Most likely. Fletcher has screwed this team.

The first step is letting Ristolainen walk or moving at the deadline and the GM eating some crow.
- MJL

Now you know that is not happening. What may happen is if Risto wants a $6.5M+ for 5+ years type of deal, CF may balk at it and I would too. The way Risto has played this season, with all the ups and downs, I think his current number is where he should be, and I personally would not pay him much above $6M per.

Ok, sure, when you stop making excuses for your top pairing pal Provey, who was on the ice for both 3rd period Devil's goals!

Like what he's done? Ristolainen has been pretty bad, Ellis doesn't play. Outside of a hot start, Atkinson has been pretty pedestrian. What has Fletcher done that has worked?
- PLindbergh31

Niskanen was his best move, but even that didn't work out in the end.

How is life in La la land? Provey is honestly not that good, but I know you will never admit it given he was yet another Hextall drafted player.
- jd250

Your Hextall schtick just makes you look silly. You're the guy who just posted that Ristolainen was headed towards dominance. You saw what a dominant defenseman looks like last night in Hamilton.

But he's headed towards dominance. You labeled him one of the best defenseman in the NHL.

Most people questioned Ellis' durability when they acquired him. How is it bad luck that the guy was literally hurt immediately?
- PLindbergh31

Its a bad groin pull, its not something Ellis ever had before. Lots of players in the NHL get groin pulls, it happens. If he reinjured a previous injury, then I would agree with you.

Correct.

Would you resign him for 5 years for 4,5 million per if that was on the table?

Was watching the Wild beat Tampa yesterday, the Wild are a really good team this year. How much of that team is from Fletcher? Answer, still quite a few players. I honestly don't blame Fletcher for this, I still like what he has done over the past few seasons.
- jd250

Fletcher is part of the problem. That is clear as day.

Yup, Hamilton is a great defenseman ... SO WHAT! What does that have to do with the Flyers?? Hamilton signed with whatever team was willing to pay him effectively a max contract for a defenseman. At the end of the day, we'll see what NJ wins with all the money they spent on him.

It has to do with educating you on what a dominant and top NHL defenseman really plays like.

Oh so hypothetically speaking, the best player on the Seattle Kraken is a dominating player? Honestly, I'm beginning to feel sorry for you.

Stop. He didnt screw the team in any way. At least not yet. He just isn't a good GM.

Just too bad he isn't very good like Saint Ronnie. Flyers made the correct move firing SR. Made a bad move hiring Fletcher who in turn made a bad move hiring AV.

Please give an analysis on how he screwed the team. Thanks in advance.

I never said Risto was in the same class as Hamilton, NEVER! But when it comes to the things I have stated 83 times already, Risto can be dominant and help this team. What we have been seeing recently unfortunately from him is the bad Risto, and that is what bothers me. We need consistency from our players and we are getting it from no one except Hart, Jones and MacEwen. That is the number 1 problem on this team right now. Just really bad, and in some cases, down right comical errors from veteran players that should just know better.

BS you haven't! All I see from you is post after post about how Provey is the best defenseman on the team. Well, how did he look last night? To use one of your lines, if Provey is this team's best defenseman, we are in big trouble!

Not much on the UFA market this year, he'd strike a pretty big pay day from somebody stupid.

Yes you did. You labeled Ristolainen as one of the top defenseman in the NHL. Hamilton is legitimately one of the top defenseman in the NHL. Ristolainen has never been dominant in his entire career. He is and has always been a mediocre player.

The focus should not be on Ristolainen. The only reason it is here is because of your delusional posting and trying to absolve him of the obvious mistakes he made. The entire team stinks except for the goaltending. Which is starting to erode.
Myself and others such as Tomahawk predicted this and pointed it out to you and others on how the Flyers were actually playing. At every step you disagreed. All of our interactions turn out the same way. With you being proven wrong.

5m AAV would be my guess... I wouldn't, but CF will. The only way he is not resigned is if CF himself is canned. I dont see that happening this season.

LOL. It is a fact that he is the best defenseman on the team. How in any way is that making an excuse for the player on any specific play?
