Well I'm guessing Molson wouldn't have hired him if he didn't believe in his overall vision.

We'll see!

Will be happy for quick returns and getting Price back in time to play for Team Canada and help the Habs to a 9th place finish.

The 21 games there was a league decision. The team can decide that he voided the terms of the code of conduct and seek to terminate his contract. They'd need league approval, who would also likely want to work _with_ the PA to do so, so you'd have to see where that all fits.

I see the obvious counter-argument for the PA: COVID, because it's become politicized, is a bigger hot-button issue and the vaccination requirements still do have a bit of a realistic legal challenge in front of them in terms of rights violations and so on . . . whereas, smuggling drugs over the border isn't so much of a grey area!

I agree with Wedgie - the only actual crime that the league could address, based on precedent, by contract termination is the forging of documents. The others are all just general Richardholery.

- Monkeypunk

There’s no realistic legal challenge. Saying I don’t like the vaccination requirement is not a defence for forging government documents.

Richards was smuggling drugs he became addicted to as a result of the team docs over prescribing him as I recall. But the law was the law and his contract was a problem for the team and they wanted out if it.

The Sharks must believe there is some value (most likely trade) in Kane or they’d dump him.

For everyone's sake, I hope so.

I'd feel much more comfortable with Price at 100% than the other options available for team Canada.

There is always/usually/more often than not a morality clause in most contracts. I'm sure he violated many different elements of the clause. Whether they enforce it or not, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As fun as the SCF appearence was (and trust me, it was great) I think long term success is much more enjoyable.

When Subban/Pacioretty/Price were in their prime and were finishing first while making it 1, 2 or 3 rounds deep for a few years is, for me, more enjoyable than one big bang.... unless that big bang wins the cup of course.

Considering what was involved in getting you to the SCF last year, many years of pain seems appropriate

It seems to me that Gorton will be pulling the strings and they're going to have a bilingual orator for press conferences that will have the title of GM

They could hire this guy.

People said the same thing about Deangelo and the Canes are a top team and he is having a career season...Idk.

Its a big risk but lets not pretend like its impossible for it to be a pay off. For a team that needs talent and can afford the risk? Why not.

They've had great success since JT left. If the leafs had accomplished exactly what they've done the past several years, there would have been parades in Toronto.

That's true, feels a little different to be honest. 49 Goals against in 23 games is not something that we've seen in Leafland for a long time.

TDA is a right-wing conspiracy theorist knucklehead but he isn't a degenerate gambler type who isn't above fraud and (frank)ing over (allegedly) his baby-mama.

He's an exceptional player but I wouldn't want to risk the headache by bringing in a player who is dealing with some major problems.

But yeah, maybe it could work out and I'm over-stating how his off-ice behaviour might affect his on-ice game. Just feels like a move Dubas would never make in a million years. 🤷

I'm pretty happy about Gorton running the show though.

Seems like a decent fella.

Madden Jr as GM would be another step I'd be 100% behind.

Just not sure he speaks french.

Looking forward to the era of GM Valerie Plante

Good signing by the Jays, I dont think they will wont miss with Gausman <> Ray
thier numbers are really similar. G might be a better bet over 5

they could also just sign Ray and then who cares.

the will probably go to the trade route to replace Semien.. A's? ..Clevland?

Go Jays
