As much as this board says Strome should be waived, he is the second best face-off guy and second best passer on the team. I still contend, Dach has no hockey sense.
- LAHawk

Agree it also looks like he lacking confidence and lazy play if late. Imo I would move to wing for few games and put borgstrom in that role.

Solid game by Borgstrom so far, he’s been strong on the puck.
- DarthKane

Really beginning to like Borgstrom's style of play. Exhibits sound hockey sense. Now, just give the guy a chance to string a few good games together.

This coming from the guy who cried when John Haden wasn't given a top six position. I think it's safe to say your talent evaluation skills are poop
- GPHawksfan

Dach is 20 there is a lot for improvement but the talent and skill is there can put it all together time will see.

Honest question. Not trying to be a wise guy.

Do you keep a data base cross referencing everyone's comments here over the years by topic or player, or do you have a great memory?

Time to clean house...Enough is enough.........thank you Kane and Toews for your services and glory...but its time to rebuild....Toews can't finish anymore and is out of gas at third period..
- shidler

What is left to clean out? The entire roster is different from three years ago save for about 5 guys (six if you count Gus who left and came back). Fine, dump Murphy, Strome, Kane and Toews. Where are you now and how much better will you be? If Toews is so overpriced and "can't finish anymore", you aren't getting anything for him. So that leaves you with Kane getting any kind of notable return.

Getting hosed at the dot routinely, can't be good for him. The guy can sometimes drive me nuts, but he still hasn't completely grown into his body. Moving him to wing like you said, might take off some of the pressure. Worth a shot.

Hawks played an OK game.

No one was bad or terrible.

But no one(except for Fleury) was particularly good.

Everyone was ok.

Hard to win in this league with “ok”.

No goals is Hawks playing ok

Give your head a shake - not ok !!!!!

The result is bad, but the overall play was a plus. They held the opponent shots to 22 SOG, dictated a lot of the play, and were sound defensively. Once you take into account that this is not a very good team, you realize that they played a pretty good game tonight.

As evidenced by King's comment after the game:
Derek King on 2-0 loss to Sharks: “For the most part, I think that’s one of the best games we’ve played all year.”

#Blackhawks had 8:14 of offensive zone possession time, per
@Sportlogiq
. Sharks had 4:04.

I actually like him and Kubalik together. They just need another player there. Khaira is not the guy.

Something not right regarding Gaudette. We never got the full story. Perhaps it was supposed to be that way? They give other studs like Strome a look-see three times over, and come to the same exact conclusions. Why not give Gaudette a decent shot? Don't understand.

May be as simple as R. Johnson, Hardman, Entwistle and Kurashev are King guys in the past?

It’s unfortunate but he may be done. Some guys can put more mileage on their bodies, maybe Toews isn’t one of those guys. I just home he retires when his contract is over and not hang on for old times sake.

Did someone not say Covid caused his problems? The White Sox 3rd baseman still had not totally recovered a year after catching the virus.

If you wanna do this thing properly, and the Hawks ain't saddled with having to move a GM and Prez out, the way to build the hockey side of the organIzation is to hire the tip of the pyramid first.... The following from the Athletic makes no sense to Rocky or his boy. Gorton couldn't build the thing, make hockey hires as well as Rocky's boy.

"As Rangers GM he led a quick rebuild which has not necessarily borne fruit as of yet, but it at least prevented the team from spending too much time in the basement before becoming competitive. In six seasons under his leadership, the Rangers acquired Adam Fox and signed Artemi Panarin while drafting Kaapo Kakko and Alexis Lafrenière.

Earlier in his career, Gorton was Boston Bruins assistant general manager for eight seasons. But it was over a 113-day period in the summer of 2006, while he briefly served as interim general manager, that Gorton contributed significantly to the Bruins’ resurgence by trading Andrew Raycroft for Tuukka Rask and running the draft that led to the additions of Phil Kessel, Milan Lucic and Brad Marchand in a span of 24 hours.

Not bad for an interim GM.

So bringing in Gorton would not simply be grabbing someone off the street. If making a clean break from the current management team was considered a necessity, Gorton would encompass both the experience and the renewal this position would require.

For the Canadiens, adding a president of hockey operations immediately would resolve the current impasse in the front office. A new leader, assured of being here next season, could manage the necessary transactions for the rest of the season while taking the time necessary, alongside Molson, to choose the right person to be the next general manager."

So he's a genius for getting one draft right?

Hagel has been a revelation. Only issue I see with him is how long will he be able to continue that pace of play. Guys can do it for a few years and then are either too beat up, too concussed or lose that “edge”. He’s a hard worker who still believes he needs to be balls to the wall in order to stay in the league/lineup.

Stat of the game:

32 blocked shots by SJ (out of 76 Hawk SATs).

Tells me that the Hawks aren’t moving looking for a lane to the net, aren’t adjusting to what’s in front of them. they decide to shoot, and by God, they’re gonna shoot no matter what obstacle is in their way.

- StLBravesFan

And when they have an opening it seems they choose to make one too many passes
