Wasn’t Dean Smith the only one to hold Jordan to less than 20 points per game? - StLBravesFan
Well not really, but kinda. Smith employed the "4-corners", the 1982 ACC Title game was the most ridiculous travesty of college basketball I ever witnessed. Total poop, UNC held the ball I THINK for 13 MINUTES of the 2nd half, NO SHOTS, no change of possession. I think the idiot Tarholes beat Virginia 47-45.
(edit: guess they are not idiots, they won a banner). |

Toews should be a lock for the Selke this year. The way he’s shut down Kubalik is awe-inspiring. - DarthKane
Toews heard Dots wants to give Kubalik 3 x $5 mil., and figured he would save the Hawks some money

Hagel has been a revelation. Only issue I see with him is how long will he be able to continue that pace of play. Guys can do it for a few years and then are either too beat up, too concussed or lose that “edge”. He’s a hard worker who still believes he needs to be balls to the wall in order to stay in the league/lineup. - TheTrob
True excellent point— plays hard 100% go—- all you can ask for |

Hawks played an OK game.
No one was bad or terrible.
But no one(except for Fleury) was particularly good.
Everyone was ok.
Hard to win in this league with “ok”. |

Better they know now, too bad they played another good game just couldn't get on the scoreboard. His next contract is dropping like a rock which is fine with me. |

Correct sir—- kills me to say it but it might be time to think about unloading Kane for something to really start a true rebuild

They seem to be passing up on too many opportunities to shoot, and this is everyone. ADB, Kurashev, Toews, Kane, and Khaira all had opportunities in close. |

Ask Kane if he wants to leave. Then you can try to trade him. Otherwise it's just noise. |

Well the one time they don't have a guy covered down the middle, who has a lot of time and space to shoot, guess what happens? Yep they score most times. That was happening 3 to 6 times a night with the old coach. Tonight it took a great pass to create that opportunity. Good on them and to bad the Hawks couldn't really generate anything after the 1st |

I love the Hawks and these kids are good guys, but this is one of the worst teams in the NHL. This is what a new GM will need to fix. |

Any team pushing for a Cup would kill to get Pat Kane. He is still a brilliantly gifted hockey player who makes everyone around him way better. He has 3 rings on his fingers to prove it.
I would only advocate moving Kane for a wealth of riches. I have no interest in trading him "just because". His talent and genius as a hockey player could actually help kids that are not even Blackhawks yet.
I am not giving that up for nothing. He can stay with the Hawks unless they get a legit offer. |

Saving the team money so Toews can get 6 years x $8 million. |

Yea i know, he, Cat, Borgstrom and a couple other players drive me crazy when they think they are smarter than the opponent and act like they are going to go after the puck carrier and peel off. Just do your (frank)ing job |

Dach is at best will always be an average NHLer. ..The guy has no juice....Loses board battle, horrible face off percentage...They should have traded him to Columbus when they got S. Jones rather than giving up draft choices.... |

Time to clean house...Enough is enough.........thank you Kane and Toews for your services and glory...but its time to rebuild....Toews can't finish anymore and is out of gas at third period.. |

Yea not impressed either. He had the puck on the half wall and some guy easily moved him off the puck. This guy was a pick #3, we needed more than this. He looks actually pretty bad. They should send him out, the idiot GM who drafted him is gone, there are no more egos to massage. See if the Hawks can develop a competent player here.

Stat of the game:
32 blocked shots by SJ (out of 76 Hawk SATs).
Tells me that the Hawks aren’t moving looking for a lane to the net, aren’t adjusting to what’s in front of them. they decide to shoot, and by God, they’re gonna shoot no matter what obstacle is in their way. |

Mostly messing around because I'm not in the room. But it takes an insane level of determination for Toews (and the others who gave us three Cups) to be what he was. It wouldn't be shocking for Toews to realize a couple years back that those days were gone, and losing just a shade of motivation. For the record, I would not hold it against Toews at all; he is human. - mohel
I was busting your chops a little, Mo. I knew you were just having some fun. Toews' Ice time is being predicated on his sterling history, and no longer on performance. Feel for the guy. Can't help but think this will be his last year. The wear and tear has finally caught up. One exceptional Blackhawk back in the day.

This coming from the guy who cried when John Haden wasn't given a top six position. I think it's safe to say your talent evaluation skills are poop |
