I’m told Jeff Gorton is not in Montréal but should be in town sometime Tuesday or Wednesday. You have to expect that at least 6 people will be interviewed for the GM position, but I’m told that names could be added in the process.

As annoying as he is, I think he knows what has to be done to build a team. Not saying I want it to happen but I would be surprised if he isn’t in the running. Unless he’s just waiting to be the gm in Ottawa.

If they just interview 4-6 French candidates that are available and jump in they’ll fail. Undoubtedly. They need to take time, decide on a process and how they want the team to function. It’s already happening. Gorton was dropped in and is going to hire someone without going through a thorough process. In 10 years you’ll all still be whining about the team an not winning.

meh, choosing a GM is an important decision but it isn't rocket science either. I guess if you think every potential French candidate that could currently be on their list is incompetent then yeah it would be a major concern but that isn't the case.

I don’t think the best gm in the league could do much with the current situation. What players would have value to another team right now? It’s going to be a very long road ahead

They get paid millions of dollars to fail. It’s just insanity.

I don’t care about sportsology specifically. But the entire process and make up of the management group of nhl teams needs to fundamentally change. The owners of the teams are all very successful business people. If they ran their other businesses the way they let their nhl teams operate they would all be bankrupt.
