. Scott Mellanby was in the running for the GM job (to replace M. Bergevin) and also a President of hockey operations position but was told he wouldn’t get either one. He then tendered his resignation.

Well, true, you technically can’t hire Bergavin as he’s still under contract. Not sure the NHL protocol on someone who quit. Might need to wait until his contract would have ended, or ask Montreal for permission.

Seems hilarious that the Canucks seem to be openly shopping for replacements for people they haven’t terminated yet.
