Time for a roster shakeup i would think. Pettersson is a very expensive 3rd line center but the Wings could be able to give you a less expensive one in return. Rasmussen and the Caps 2nd rounder for Pettersson would do the trick. Nucks get a much cheaper 3rd line center with size and younger.

Cruel and unusual but Canucks are interviewing for currently and will hire their new coach so that he’s here immediately when they fire Green. Tells me that all the bench coaches are going.


Also Roberto Aquilini may assume control of the Canucks from what I’ve heard as the family feels FA is meddling too much. That may take away Benning’s immunity necklace.

Thanks Carol! I remember that season when Quinn stepped upstairs full time and Ley took over. I don’t think the word success belongs anywhere near that performance. That was the start of a string of terrible coaching for the Canucks. 333 games of brutality between Tom Renney, Rick Ley and Mike Keenan.

Wings can't afford to trade Edvinsson. They are way too weak in their prospect pool on the LD side.


Obviously i was joking about the Pettersson trade. I would love to have him on the Wings despite his struggles this season since the Wings basically have nothing in the prospect system that really projects as a top end center and they need that badly.

Adding Edvinsson and Cossa filled two huge holes in their prospect system...also adding Ned in net from Carolina did help a lot and will buy time for Cossa so he won't be rushed.

I'm assuming Pouty is Pettersson? Wasn't he a top 6 center before this season since he came into the league? Even with his struggles this season, he would still be a better option to center the 2nd line on the Wings than anything else they have. Suter isn't cutting it, Fabbri can't cut it either, Rasmussen isn't good enough offensively. Veleno might in time (maybe not either) but i see him more as a good 3rd line center.


I don't think the Wings are going to draft high enough in the next draft to have a chance at a top end center. This is their biggest need now that they added Edvinsson and Cossa/Ned.

I hope that's true. This team needs a proper president, I would contact the league (they're a 1/32 owner) and get them to provide you a list of candidates for president and then interview all that are interested and pick the one with the vision you share, put him in charge, he decides whether Benning and co. stick around. Put a real hockey guy in charge and let him be in charge.
