She has both electric and acoustic
- Atomic Wedgie

If she's doing her own stuff and not just learning songs then an ebow might be fun

https://www.long-mcquade....d_Held_Bow_for_Guitar.htm

If she's mainly into learning songs its probably not worthwhile

Maybe an acoustic pickup if the acoustic doesn't have a built in preamp

Has she been good this year? If she hasn't, you could always get her a bass.

Good morning my guitar-playing Hockeybuzz friends.

Last year I asked you what I should get my daughter for Christmas, and you boyz made me the absolute franking hero by recommending the bluetooth thingy so she can play directly to headphones.

No, seriously, she loves it.

So I am once again asking for suggestions for guitar-related gifts for a teenager.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if she has 1 already, but a small amp that’s blue tooth so she can play along while she plays the song at the same time

Amplifi 75 or something like that

I think the point here is that Kerfoot does not move the needle and his much vaunted "versatility" is ultimately pointless because this team lives and dies on the Core 4 being healthy for any run to be successful.

As an example, J.T. Miller would be a perfect fit in the Top 6.

- mjones242

I get that and have been arguing with Dozzer that Kerfoot is absolutely moveable for that reason. But when trading it’s not how many pieces you want but also how much you’re willing to give up. Hypothetically, are you ok moving out two firsts at the deadline, one to upgrade LW and one to upgrade Holl? (First and/or equivalent prospects)

But if you’re choosing one - D or LW - based on play right now, I trade for D. (Reverse Sam Bennet argument)

Sure, obviously, and it's not just the pieces you move but also whether those pieces you acquire have term or not (e.g. J.T. Miller is locked up next year as well).

The Leafs should definitely be willing to move picks (a 1st... not so sure about 2 firsts) and prospects (yes, I would move Robertson) to bring back a significant piece.

Perhaps Holl remains on this club. Team D seems to have solidified and if one of the 6 goes down he is, underwhelming as he might be, a serviceable option.

To wit: the Leafs need a Top 6 forward more than a D-man at this point. So I guess we're on opposite sides of the "needs" debate.

Wednesday is dec 1, they only have 1 loss in November. Only one more game in November. Worst they can do is 2 November losses.
- burn

I thought I had heard on the telecast they had 2 losses.

My bad. Maybe I misheard. I'll take your word for it because checking would take too much time ha.

I would deal next years picks as in 2023 picks. I would also consider moving Robertson if someone came back with a bit of term similar to the Muzzin deal.

I am a Lilly fan but figure after his 2 huge misplays with the puck he will be sitting Sunday .

Gotta play Dermott the odd time if we want to trade him

- jribout

Yeah, I hope not. He made the mistakes, yeah, but at least he recovered directly after them and prevented anything from happening. Which is more than a few other guys can say after their miscues.

I am sick.

Just a cold - not the flu or COVID.

But I think this is the first cold I have had since the pandemic began.

It sucks.

I am still in bed.

My entire family has been hit with a cold as well (not COVID related). So far, just massive stuffiness for me and the wife, but the kids have both are dealing with a cough. My youngest developed croup w/ strider, as a result, which has been fun.

I'm going to guess the last time I was like this was also pre-pandemic. The really funny part is the weird anxiety I now have whenever I have a sniffle, a sneeze, or a slight cough when in public. Always have this in the back of my mind:

Hope you recover quickly, Wedgie. It's hard to watch the West Coast games on good nights let alone when you're under the weather.

Ugh croup with strider sucks. My son and I spent a nighy in hospital for it.

Hope they recover quick!

If you're going to move Kerfoot, it would be nice to get a LW that can C in a pinch. JT Miller fits that bill doesn't he?

But before trading Kerfoot, I would move Micheyev, Engvall and Holl and Dermott and maybe even Mrazek if Woll keeps it up. Add whatever picks/prospects you need to add to get a solid #4D and a solid 2LW/C. By keeping Kerfoot you have some serious depth on F and D would be solid too.

$6.4M in Cap = Micheyev, Engvall, Holl, Dermott
$10.2 in Cap = Micheyev, Engvall, Holl, Dermott, Mrazek

JT Miller, Matthews, Marner
Bunting, Tavares, Nylander
Kerfoot, Kampf, Kase
Simmonds, Spezza, Ritchie
Semyonov

Rielly, Brodie
Muzz, NEW RD/Liljigren
Sandin, NEW RD/Liljigren
(Rubins, Biega??)

Campbell
Mrazek/Woll

So could you get a RD for $1.3 at the TDL?? (if you acquire JT Miller)

Or move Mrazek too and have $5.1m at the TDL and go into the playoffs with Woll as the back up???

Could even find a nice RD and a stronger backup with $3m for RD and $2m for B/up.

After all of this typing and thinking, Dubas actually could make some moves. I'm sure the brain trust has way more smarts than me so they could have a few different plays.

Edit: Cap Friendly has a trade posted JT Miller for Micheyev, Engvall 2023 1st and 2023 2nd. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hope your family feels better.

My daughter has just informed me she has a sinus headache - wondering if we should bail on her afternoon practice.

Greatest concert (indoor) I've ever been to was Front 242 back in '98. I thought I was probably going to die and it was awesome.

You (frank)ing Holl wives make me sick. Gigs is going to kill you. My guess is a non consequential piece (Mik or Engvall or someone) moves in the next few weeks to make room for Mrazek and then they see how things look later.

I set our tunes up using a Mackie SRM150 PA speaker. Running the record player we have into channel 3 using a RCA cable. Since the record player also has a Bluetooth connection I can either play vinyl or anything digital on a 150 watt live music piece. It has another two channels as well that I can plug a guitar, bass, or mic in as well and jam along with music and be capable of mixing them (both channels either 1/4” or XLR jacks). Only a little 5-1/2” full range speaker so it’s not even big or heavy whatsoever.
