Nnnoooo! He’s on waivers for a reason.
I’m not happy with echl, Ahl and aarp. And something should be done. Murray ain’t it. - Gr8daygo

Well sure
I’m not saying it’s ONLY the goalie
What i did wonder,
was if losing a game on such a crappy goal could push Adams towards claiming Murray
9/10 (at least) we are gonna be the less talented team
Gonna be hard to make enough upgrades to the skaters change that - jdfitz77
No, but YOU ARE saying it’s SOLEY the goalie. |

[quote=BeadyEyedDouche]I wouldn't go that far. My biggest issue was Caggiula, Hayden, Eakin, Hinostroza, Routsalainen all bringing almost the same size and production to the team. We didn't need our entire bottom 6 taken up by clones.
Murray not being with the big club is the biggest head-scratcher for me. We should have signed or traded for one more top-6 forward but we didn't, that's not on Donnie. Nor is the goaltending.
We are seeing more or less what we wanted to this year though, keep that in mind guys. Don't quit, learn from mistakes, be competitive. We all wanted to see those 5-4 losses this season instead of the 2-1, 5-2, getting shut out crap we saw the entire Eichel-era.
This current team has more fight and is more exciting to watch than the entire Eichel-era. That guy refused to take a game over. He refused to be dominant. He isn't a natural leader - He will probably put up 90 points per down in Vegas should he come back completely healthy.
Hey come on now. Eichel refused to take a game over or be dominan? The guy is without any doubt one of the best players in the world. I watched many games he single handedly won for the Sabres and was very dominant.
You can’t blame Eichel for the organizations inability to build around a generational talent like him

I’m not defending our goaltending.
However even if we had good goaltending, we are getting caved in most nights.
Can both of those not be true ? Or does it HAVE to be one or the other ? - Pegullaville
I agree, & I’ve said the same thing multiple times
However,
the point i was making was if losing like that might drive Adams to place a claim?
Not saying he should, or would
Just thinking out loud |

I will say that your dumba$$ idea about moving Dahlin to center is just as ridiculous as the first 300 times i saw u suggest it |

Now, if you brought in Arturs Irbe to coach him…. Maybe?!? That contract is pretty bad though. |

Trust me, I’m aware. You’ve told me 500 times since i first suggested it. Sounds like that move is in your head and you’re going to be ultra rattled when it happens. |

Pretty obvious it's both
Donnie is a great coach
Ralph was a terrible coach
It can be both..... - Boss34
We are 4-10-1 in our last 15 and that’s with Tage going Super Sayian shooting 18%.
Donnie was dealt a terrible roster, I’m not expecting him to make the playoffs or make a meaningful push, I think he’s doing an adequate job so far but nothing special. |

Without Totarski, the Sabres don't get to O/T. Yeah, he let in a softy in O/T but still. Overall he's played well this year. He's just playing too many games with Anderson out. Anyway, I think he's done enough to earn a 1 or 2 year 2-way contract with the Sabres. UPL and "X" next year in Buffalo with Tokarski and Portillo or Levi in Rochester. Tokarski is our #3 next year. |

With all the Cap room we have, bad contracts aren’t that big a worry to me
It’s not like we’re gonna need that $$$ to sign good UFAs,
since i doubt any would wanna come here |

I’m fine with this approach. But “x” needs to be at least average and probably not over 40. |

We are gonna need to find someone decent though
Not saying Murray is that guy
Not saying i even want him
Just wondering if losing a game on a goal like that might push Adams over the edge to try something different |

Rather over pay a free agent RD then have to suck on the Murray contract…. |

1- plenty of room to do both
2- can we even find a decent RD to sign with us as a UFA? |

Rumor is Chicago might have to retain on him to get a trade done. $3m cap hit right now.
I do this for a 3rd or lower for sure. 3rd overall pick, contract up at end of year. Give him a spin and whatever. If it works out, could be a steal. |

I'd bet Murray gets discussed here more than it was discussed in KA's office. Hard pass.

Decent goalies are supposed to make saves to help their teams win- even good ones once in a while
They aren’t supposed to let in super soft ones like that OT goal though
He’s been mostly a career AHLer for a reason
Fringe NHLer at best |

Well he hasn’t been able to make a deal with Dallas yet
One would think the status quo in net is not good enough
Do we have any other options?
Are there other teams out there looking to move a decent goalie? |

You're assuming they're actually trying to win this year. That's a debatable assumption. |
