Yeah but what would you realistically give up for that goalie ?

I'd give up a #2 and a roster player (Girgs ?) for a decent goaltender. I think that would do it. And yes, we'll live without Girgensons.

give the kings our 2nd from the flyers for quick

When do they get Anderson back? He was playing great. As good as you could hope for any #1 goalie

Sabres are second in the NHL in goals scored above expected.

Hot shooting and terrible goaltending makes for fun hockey.

Could get ugly though when the shooting binge regresses

none of the eight teams with a sub-.500 points percentage has a better goal differential than the sabres -9 and only one of 10 teams with .500 or lower is better (lak, -3)

Or teams start to really care about every point; come Jan 15th normally, maybe after the Olympic break this year? Couple that with they begin to play their starter in Goal.

Enjoy the fun.
Resist the urge to splurge this year for 10 meaningless points.
Keep the eye on the prize
Trust the process

i get it, but i think you got it backwards at the end...journeymen players won't be harmed by losing...they know who they are and the best possible way to continue their career the following season...dahlin's confidence was crushed under the weight of losing last season and it showed at the beginning of this season...he's coming out of it, but it's a slow process...

i get what you're saying, but the proof is in the pudding...the post-tank season saw them with league-worst numbers of 179 wins, 232 losses, 420 points and .444 points percentage...it corroded the locker room, stunk up the ice and led to the trades of the two players the tanks got them

- Michael Pachla

Dahlin sucked because he was soft, nonchalant and clueless defensively. Bad coaching too.

Losing the year before was an excuse.
He kinda doesn't understand defense, winning last year would not have changed it IMO.

Depends on what team you get the goalie from, say Dallas they need the cap space, so really wouldn't give up much

not sure what you were expecting from him, a combination of scott stevens and ray bourque from a teenager/20 yr. old?

dahlin was drafted for his offense, and he found himself in a losing environment which exacerbated his deficiencies on defense and crushed any confidence he had in his offensive acumen...and it's not just winning last season...they were notoriously bad and went on a 18-game winless streak (0-15-3) being outscored 60-27 which included being shut out five times...eichel demanded out, skunk was a year away from saying bye-bye and dahlin didn't sign a long-term deal with buffalo even though it was rumored they offered him one...why didn't' he do it?...losing culture...

it's hard to shake and they haven't been able to shake that culture during the post-tank years

No team has less pressure than Michigan in the CFP. Season is already a huge win. House money now.

Good points, problem is your kinda blaming everyone but dahlin.
And I was expecting greatness , I've settled for a decent nhl player. He's getting close....to being decent.

"Leading" the league in +/- is a player issue, as well as a team issue. He was the worst nhl player, and it wasnt even close (+/-).

He should have been learning the game somewhere other than the nhl.

The losing hasnt helped, but its dahlin. He needs to get his mind straight. It's on him.

We were 4-1-1 he was still not playing well....

Good post and after a hot 4-1-1 start

4-9-1 correct?

There's gonna be some disappointment around here
