The Blues suck. Won't get out of the 1st round and their fall off is right around the corner.

Not a perfect game from the Hawks but they got it done. Seth Jones has been what the Hawks hoped he would be. Overall the team playing a lot better today than they did over that road trip.

Honestly, I wonder if maybe some Blackhawks fans are too embarrassed by the 2010 scandal to really work up a good hate for any other teams this year. But don't worry, we still hate you. Yes, you've sucked ever since the Blues knocked you out in 2016. But the Chicago/St. Louis rivalry has survived years of Blackhawks playing embarrassing hockey in the past, I'm sure it will survive how much you guys suck now.

Down 2-nuttin, 2 greasy goals tie it, beauty 2 on 1 Kane to Dcat to win it. Hawks win the fancies. One bad stretch where they gave up a few solid scoring chances otherwise pretty tight, forwards coming back tying up sticks on what looked to be Grade A's, Kaner a bunch of coughs, Hagel is severely underrated, as usual Jones in the middle of scoring chances.

Borgstrom the 3rd(?) straight game at 3C, just 9 minutes, some 2nd unit PP, 61CF%, 55% SF, hit a crossbar. Love he's getting a consistent stretch at 3C but would love to see more minutes. Kid is skating with a purpose.

But biggest difference is goaltending. If we let in a softie we probably will not win. We just don’t have enough offense.

Tyler Johnson, if he is healthy, could be a good add to the 3rd line.

I guess I've lowered my expectations, Blackhawks being down only 1 goal going into the 3rd period and having a chance is great by me. Competing against a playoff team or not, JC has made me appreciate a team that actually plays defense 1st and is in ball games now. That's what I'm thankful for.

Gus has been fine pretty much all season. He has had some gaffs but who on this team hasn't? He will play the body at least.

SV% is .960 since King took over. Today they played better defensively but a team giving up close to 35 shots a game could hardly be said to be much better defensively.

Plus, its boring hockey.

I checked the boxscore and Kalybuk only had 9 minutes TOI. Anybody know if he committed any gaffes leading to his reduced ice time or did King rely on his vets in a close game?

I know where you're coming from, but to me a goal scored where its either a defensive gaff or a soft goal are similar and the Blackhawks definitely can't afford both to happen in 1 game.
